अथर्ववेद (कांड 19)
यानि॒ नक्ष॑त्राणि दि॒व्यन्तरि॑क्षे अ॒प्सु भूमौ॒ यानि॒ नगे॑षु दि॒क्षु । प्र॑क॒ल्पयं॑श्च॒न्द्रमा॒ यान्येति॒ सर्वा॑णि॒ ममै॒तानि॑ शि॒वानि॑ सन्तु ॥ (१)
जो नक्षत्र अंतरिक्ष अर्थात् आकाश में, जलों में, भूमियों तथा पर्वतों पर एवं दिशाओं में हैं तथा चंद्रमा जिन नक्षत्रों को प्रकट करता हुआ उदय होता है, वे नक्षत्र मुझे सुख देने वाले हों. (१)
The constellations that are in space i.e. in the sky, in waters, on lands and mountains and in the directions and the constellations that the moon rises by revealing, those constellations should give me happiness. (1)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 19)
अ॑ष्टाविं॒शानि॑ शि॒वानि॑ श॒ग्मानि॑ स॒ह योगं॑ भजन्तु मे । योगं॒ प्र प॑द्ये॒ क्षेमं॑ च॒ क्षेमं॒ प्र प॑द्ये॒ योगं॑ च॒ नमो॑ऽहोरा॒त्राभ्या॑मस्तु ॥ (२)
देखने में सुख देने वाले तथा सुख प्रदान करने वाले जो अट्ठाईस नक्षत्र हैं, वे एकसाथ मिल कर मुझे प्राप्त हों एवं मुझे सुख प्रदान करें. मैं नक्षत्रों की कृपा से अप्राप्त वस्तुओं को प्राप्त करूं तथा प्राप्त वस्तुओं की सुरक्षा कर सकूं. दिन और रात को मेरा नमस्कार है. (२)
May the twenty-eight nakshatras that give happiness and happiness in seeing, together they get me and give me happiness. I can get the unearned things by the grace of the constellations and protect the things received. My greetings to the day and night. (2)

स्वस्ति॑तं मे सुप्रा॒तः सु॑सा॒यं सु॑दि॒वं सु॑मृ॒गं सु॑शकु॒नं मे॑ अस्तु । सु॒हव॑मग्ने स्व॒स्त्यम॒र्त्यं ग॒त्वा पुन॒राया॑भि॒नन्द॑न् ॥ (३)
प्रातःकाल मुझे सुख प्रदान करें, सायं काल मुझे सुख प्रदान करे तथा दिनरात मुझे सुखी बनाएं. मैं जिस प्रयोजन संबंधी नक्षत्र में प्रस्थान करूं, उस में हरिण आदि शुभ शकुन के रूप मेरे अनुकूल गति वाले हों. हे अग्नि! सभी नक्षत्रों के देवताओं का अभिनंदन करने वाले एवं अविनश्वर द्युलोक में जा कर हवि देने वाले हम यजमानों और ऋत्विजों को प्रसन्न करने के हेतु पुनः यहां आओ. (३)
May the morning give me happiness, may the evening give me happiness and make me happy day and night. In the constellation for which I leave, the deer etc. should be in the form of auspicious shakuns in which I move in accordance with me. O agni! Come here again to please the hosts and the ritwijas who greet the deities of all the nakshatras and go to the eternal day. (3)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 19)
अ॑नुह॒वं प॑रिह॒वं प॑रिवा॒दं प॑रिक्ष॒वम् । सर्वै॑र्मे रिक्तकु॒म्भान्परा॒ तान्त्सवि॑तः सुव ॥ (४)
हे सविता देव! कार्य के निमित्त जाते हुए मुझ को तुम सभी नक्षत्रों में अनुभव नाम ले कर पीछे से बुलाना, परिहव नाम ले कर दोनों ओर से पुकारना. परिवाद अर्थात् कठोर भाषण, परिक्षव अर्थात् वर्जित स्थल में प्रवेश व खाली घड़े आदि देखना-अपशकुनों से बचाओ. (४)
O Savita Dev! While going to work, call me from behind by taking the name of experience in all the constellations, calling me from both sides by taking the name Parihav. Avoid arguments, speech, observation, entry into a prohibited place and seeing empty pitchers, etc. (4)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 19)
अप॑पा॒पं प॑रिक्ष॒वं पुण्यं॑ भक्षी॒महि॒ क्षव॑म् । शि॒वा ते॑ पाप॒ नासि॑कां॒ पुण्य॑गश्चा॒भि मे॑हताम् ॥ (५)
अहित करने वाली छींक हम से दूर हो. धन प्राप्ति के लिए जाते हुए पुरुष को गीदड़ी का दर्शन, उस का शब्द सुनना तथा नपुंसक का दर्शन-ये सभी हमारे पापों को शांत करने वाले हों. (५)
The harming sneeze away from us. While going to get wealth, the man should see the jackal, hear his word and see the impotent - all these should calm our sins. (5)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 19)
इ॒मा या ब्र॑ह्मणस्पते॒ विषु॑ची॒र्वात॒ ईर॑ते । स॒ध्रीची॑रिन्द्र॒ ताः कृ॒त्वा मह्यं॑ शि॒वत॑मास्कृधि ॥ (६)
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति इंद्र! ये सभी दिशाएं आंधी के कारण धुंधली हो जाती हैं तथा पता नहीं चलता कि यह कौन सी दिशा है. उन अंधकार से ढकी हुई दिशाओं को मेरे अनुकूल करते हुए कल्याण करने वाली बनाओ. (६)
O Brahmanaspati Indra! All these directions become blurred due to the storm and it is not known which direction it is. Make those dark-covered directions favorable to me and make them welfare. (6)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 19)
स्व॒स्ति नो॑ अ॒स्त्वभ॑यं नो अस्तु॒ नमो॑ऽहोर॒त्राभ्या॑मस्तु ॥ (७)
हमारा कल्याण हो तथा हमारा भय दूर हो. दिन और रात के लिए हमारा नमस्कार हो. (७)
May our welfare and our fear be removed. Greetings to us for day and night. (7)
