अथर्ववेद (कांड 2)
रुद्र॒ जला॑षभेषज॒ नील॑शिखण्ड॒ कर्म॑कृत् । प्राशं॒ प्रति॑प्राशो जह्यर॒सान्कृ॑ण्वोषधे ॥ (६)
हे सुखकर जड़ीबूटियों वाले, नीले रंग के विखंड अर्थात् मोर के पंखों के मुकुट से युक्त एवं अपने उपासकों के दुष्कर्मो को काटने वाले रुद्र! मेरे द्वारा सेवन की जाती हुई ग्वारपाठा नाम की जड़ी को मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का तिरस्कार करने योग्य बनाओ. हे ग्वारपाठा! मुझ प्रश्न करने वाले से जो विरोधी प्रतिप्रश्न पूछते हैं, उन्हें तुम पराजित करो तथा मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का मुंह सुखा दो, जिस से वे बोल न सकें. O Rudra with happy herbs, with blue fragments i.e. crowns of peacock feathers and cutting the misdeeds of his worshippers! Make the jadi called Guarpatha consumed by me despise my opposing speakers. O guar patha! Defeat the opponents who ask me the counter-question and dry the mouths of the speakers opposing me so that they cannot speak. (6)
