अथर्ववेद (कांड 20)
गि॒रा वज्रो॒ न संभृ॑तः॒ सब॑लो॒ अन॑पच्युतः । व॑व॒क्ष ऋ॒ष्वो अस्तृ॑तः ॥ (१४)
इंद्र पर्वत से प्राप्य वज्र के समान शक्तिशाली हैं. वे कभी पतित नहीं होते हैं. वे श्रेष्ठ यजमानों के लिए शत्रु का धन प्राप्त करते हैं. (१४)
Indra is as powerful as the thunderbolt obtainable from the mountain. They are never degenerate. They receive enemy money for the best hosts. (14)
