नित्य प्रति सूर्य के साथ रहने वाली किरणें जलों के स्वामी इंद्र के साथ भी रहती हैं. हम यह कामना करते हैं कि इंद्र के जल रूपी मेघ विस्तृत हों. जिस प्रकार इंद्र भूत, वर्तमान और भविष्य तीनों कालों के धनों का विभाजन करते हैं, उसी प्रकार हम उस धन के भाग पर ध्यान देते हैं. (१)
The rays that remain with the sun every day also stay with Indra, the swami of water. We wish that indra's water-like clouds are wide. Just as Indra divides the wealth of the three periods past, present and future, in the same way we pay attention to the part of that money. (1)
अन॑र्शरातिं वसु॒दामुप॑ स्तुहि भ॒द्रा इन्द्र॑स्य रा॒तयः॑ । सो अ॑स्य॒ कामं॑ विध॒तो न रो॑षति॒ मनो॑ दा॒नाय॑ चो॒दय॑न् ॥ (२)
हे स्तोताओ! तुम धन देने वाले इंद्र का सच्चे हृदय से आश्रय लो. इंद्र का दान मंगलमय है, इसलिए तुम उन की स्तुति करो. इंद्र अपने उपासक की कामना पूर्ण करते हैं. स्तुति कर के धन मांगने वाला पुरुष इंद्र के मन को धन देने के लिए आकर्षित करता है. (२)
O stotao! Take refuge from the true heart of Indra, who gives wealth. Indra's donation is auspicious, so praise him. Indra fulfills the wish of his worshiper. The man who asks for money by praising attracts Indra's mind to give money. (2)
हे सूर्य रूपी इंद्र! हे आदित्य! तुम्हारे महान होने की बात सत्य है. तुम सत्य रूप वाले हो. तुम्हारी महिमा की प्रशंसा की जाती है, इसलिए तुम्हारे महिमावान होने की बात यथार्थ है. (३)
O Indra in the form of the sun! O Aditya! The fact that you are great is true. You are the true one. Your glory is admired, so the fact that you are glorious is true. (3)
हे सूर्य! तुम स्वयं महान हो. हमारे हवि रूप अन्न से तुम्हारी महिमा की वृद्धि हो. तुम अपनी महिमा के कारण ही राक्षसों से संघर्ष करते हो. तुम व्यापक हो. कोई तुम्हारी हिंसा नहीं कर सकता. (४)
O sun! You yourself are great. May your glory increase with our food. You fight demons because of your glory. You're comprehensive. No one can do your violence. (4)
