अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
पृ॑थि॒व्याम॒ग्नये॒ सम॑नम॒न्त्स आ॑र्ध्नोत् । यथा॑ पृथि॒व्याम॒ग्नये॑ स॒मन॑मन्ने॒वा मह्यं॑ सं॒नमः॒ सं न॑मन्तु ॥ (१)
पृथ्वी पर देवता रूप में स्थित अग्नि के लिए सभी प्राणी नमन करते हैं. वे अग्नि इस से समृद्ध होते हैं. पृथ्वी पर प्राणी जिस प्रकार अग्नि के लिए नमन करते हैं, उसी प्रकार का नमन मेरे लिए भी हो. (१)
All beings bow down to the agni located in the form of deity on earth. Those agnis are enriched by this. Just as beings on earth bow down to agni, the same kind of bowing should be for me. (1)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
पृ॑थि॒वी धे॒नुस्तस्या॑ अ॒ग्निर्व॒त्सः । सा मे॒ऽग्निना॑ व॒त्सेनेष॒मूर्जं॒ कामं॑ दुहाम् । आयुः॑ प्रथ॒मं प्र॒जां पोषं॑ र॒यिं स्वाहा॑ ॥ (२)
पृथ्वी गाय है और अग्नि उस का बछड़ा है. अग्नि रूपी बछड़े के कारण पृथ्वी मेरे लिए मनचाही मात्रा में बल कारक अन्न दे. पृथ्वी मुझे सौ वर्ष की आयु, प्रजा, पुष्टि एवं धन दे. यह हवि उत्तम आहुति वाला हो. (२)
Earth is cow and agni is its calf. Due to the calf of agni, the earth should give me the desired amount of force and food. May the earth give me a hundred years of age, subjects, confirmation and wealth. This is the best sacrifice. (2)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे वा॒यवे॒ सम॑नम॒न्त्स आ॑र्ध्नोत् । यथा॒न्तरि॑क्षे वा॒यवे॑ स॒मन॑मन्ने॒वा मह्यं॑ सं॒नमः॒ सं न॑मन्तु ॥ (३)
अंतरिक्ष में अधिपति के रूप में स्थित वायु के लिए यक्ष, गंधर्व आदि ने भलीभांति नमस्कार किया. वायु उन के नमस्कार से प्रसन्न हुए. जिस प्रकार गंधर्व आदि ने अंतरिक्ष में वायु के लिए नमस्कार किया, उसी प्रकार वह मेरे लिए नमस्कार करें. (३)
Yaksha, Gandharva etc. greeted the air located as the ruler in space. Vayu was pleased with his greetings. Just as Gandharva etc. saluted for air in space, so should he greet me. (3)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
अ॒न्तरि॑क्षं धे॒नुस्तस्या॑ वायुर्व॒त्सः । सा मे॑ वा॒युना॑ व॒त्सेनेष॒मूर्जं॒ कामं॑ दुहाम् । आयुः॑ प्रथ॒मं प्र॒जां पोषं॑ र॒यिं स्वाहा॑ ॥ (४)
अंतरिक्ष गाय है और वायु उस का बड़ा है. वह गाय वायु रूपी बछड़े के कारण मुझे बलकारक अन्न पर्याप्त मात्रा में प्रदान करे. वायु मुझे सौ वर्ष की आयु, प्रजा, पुष्टि एवं धन दे. यह हवि उत्तम आहुति वाला हो. (४)
Space is cow and air is big of that. That cow should provide me with sufficient quantity of strong food due to the calf of air. May the wind give me a hundred years of age, subjects, confirmation and wealth. This is the best sacrifice. (4)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
दि॒व्या॑दि॒त्याय॒ सम॑नम॒न्त्स आ॑र्ध्नोत् । यथा॑ दि॒व्या॑दि॒त्याय॑ स॒मन॑मन्ने॒वा मह्यं॑ सं॒नमः॒ सं न॑मन्तु ॥ (५)
द्युलोक में स्थित सूर्य के लिए वहां के सभी प्राणियों ने नमस्कार किया. उस नमस्कार से सूर्य प्रसन्न हुए. प्राणियों ने जिस प्रकार द्युलोक के सूर्य के लिए नमस्कार किया, उसी प्रकार मेरे लिए भी नमस्कार करें. (५)
All the creatures there saluted the sun located in Dulok. Surya was pleased with that greeting. Just as the creatures saluted for the sun of Dyulok, so also greet me. (5)

द्यौर्धे॒नुस्तस्या॑ आदि॒त्यो व॒त्सः । सा म॑ आदि॒त्येन॑ व॒त्सेनेष॒मूर्जं॒ कामं॑ दुहाम् । आयुः॑ प्रथ॒मं प्र॒जां पोषं॑ र॒यिं स्वाहा॑ ॥ (६)
द्यौ गाय है और सूर्य उस का बड़ा है. वह द्यौ रूपी गाय सूर्य रूपी बछड़े के कारण मेरे लिए मनचाहा बलकारक अन्न प्रदान करे. वह मुझे सौ वर्ष की आयु, प्रजा, पुष्टि और धन प्रदान करे. यह हवि उत्तम आहुति वाला हो. (६)
It is a cow and the sun is its great. That cow of dyau should provide the strong food i want for me due to the calf of the sun. May He give me a hundred years of age, subjects, confirmation and wealth. This is the best sacrifice. (6)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
दि॒क्षु च॒न्द्राय॒ सम॑नम॒न्त्स आ॑र्ध्नोत् । यथा॑ दि॒क्षु च॒न्द्राय॑ स॒मन॑मन्ने॒वा मह्यं॑ सं॒नमः॒ सं न॑मन्तु ॥ (७)
दिशाओं में वर्तमान चंद्रमा के लिए वहां के जीवों ने नमस्कार किया. इस से चंद्रमा बहुत प्रसन्न हुए. जीवों ने जिस प्रकार चंद्रमा के लिए नमस्कार किया, उसी प्रकार मेरे लिए भी करेंगे. (७)
The creatures there greeted the current moon in the directions. Moon was very pleased with this. Just as the creatures greeted the moon, they will do it for me too. (7)

दिशो॑ धे॒नव॒स्तासां॑ च॒न्द्रो व॒त्सः । ता मे॑ च॒न्द्रेण॑ व॒त्सेनेष॒मूर्जं॒ कामं॑ दुहा॒म् । आयुः॑ प्रथ॒मं प्र॒जां पोषं॑ र॒यिं स्वाहा॑ ॥ (८)
दिशाएं गाय हैं और चंद्रमा उन का बछड़ा है. वे दिशाएं चंद्रमा रूपी बछड़े के कारण मुझे मनचाहा बलकारक अन्न प्रदान करें. वे मुझे सौ वर्ष की आयु, प्रजा, पुष्टि एवं धन दें. (८)
Directions are cows and moon is their calf. Those directions give me the necessary strong food I want due to the calf of the moon. May they give me a hundred years of age, subjects, confirmation and money. (8)
