हे पुरुष! सुख का अनुभव कराने वाले मन के लिए, ज्ञान के साधन चित्त के लिए, ध्यान के साधन बुद्धि के लिए, स्मृति के साधन संकल्प के लिए, ज्ञान के साधन चेतना के लिए, अतीत की स्मृति के कारण मति के लिए, सुनने से उत्पन्न ज्ञान के लिए एवं चक्षु से उत्पन्न ज्ञान के लिए हम आज्य से सेवा करते हैं. (१)
O man! We serve with life for the mind that experiences happiness, for the mind, for the means of meditation for the intellect, for the means of memory for resolution, for the means of knowledge for consciousness, for the mind due to the memory of the past, for the knowledge generated by hearing and for the knowledge generated by the eye. (1)
अपान वायु को, व्यान वायु को, प्राण वायु को, प्राणापान व्यान वायुओं को धारण करने वाले प्राणियों की, अत्यधिक व्याप्ति वाली सरस्वती की हम आज्य आदि के द्वारा सेवा करते हैं. (२)
We serve the air of ours, the air of life, the living beings who hold the air, the highly occupied Saraswati through ajya etc. (2)
मा नो॑ हासिषु॒रृष॑यो॒ दैव्या॒ ये त॑नू॒पा ये न॑स्त॒न्वस्तनू॒जाः । अम॑र्त्या॒ मर्त्यां॑ अ॒भि नः॑ सचध्व॒मायु॑र्धत्त प्रत॒रं जी॒वसे॑ नः ॥ (३)
प्राण के अधिष्ठाता देव एवं दिव्य गुणों वाले सप्त ऋषि हमें नहीं त्यागें. शरीरों के रक्षक ऋषि हमें सभी ओर से प्राप्त हों. वे हमें जीवन के लिए अत्यधिक आयु प्रदान करें. (३)
The god who is the presiding deity of life and the sapta rishis with divine qualities should not leave us. May we receive sages from all sides, the protectors of bodies. May they give us extreme lifespan for life. (3)
