पूर्ण चंद्र से युक्त पौर्णमासी पश्चिम दिशा में विजयी होती है तथा पूर्व दिशा में विजय प्राप्त करती है. यह आकाश के मध्य में भी सर्वोत्कृष्ट सिद्ध होती है. हम इस पौर्णमासी में यज्ञ करने योग्य देवों के साथ महत्त्व से निवास करते हुए, स्वर्ग के ऊपरी भाग में अन्न के साथ प्रसन्न हों. (१)
The Full Moon-endowed With the full moon, the Full Moon wins in the west direction and wins in the east direction. It also proves to be excellent in the middle of the sky. In this Paurnamasi, we should be happy with food in the upper part of heaven, living in importance with the gods who perform yajna. (1)
हम अभिलषित फल देने वाले तथा अन्न धन से युक्त पौर्णमास पर्व का यज्ञ करते हैं. पौर्णमास यज्ञ हमें विनाश रहित, शत्रुओं की बाधा से रहित एवं उपभोग करने पर भी क्षीण न होने वाला धन दे. (२)
We perform the yajna of the Festival of Pournamas, which gives desired results and is rich in food. May the Pournamas Yajna give us money without destruction, without the hindrance of enemies and without decay even if consumed. (2)
हे प्रजापति! तुम्हारे अतिरिक्त कोई भी देव इस समय वर्तमान समस्त आकार के प्राणियों में व्याप्त होने वाला नहीं है. हम जिस फल की कामना करते हुए तुम्हें हवि देते हैं हमें वह फल प्राप्त हो और हम धनों के स्वामी बनें. (३)
O Prajapati! Apart from you, no God is going to pervade all the beings of all sizes at this time. May we receive the fruit we wish for and become the masters of wealth. (3)
पौर्णमासी दिनों और रात्रियों में यज्ञ के योग्य प्रमुख तिथि है. पौर्णमासी सभी रात्रियों और सोम आदि हवियों में उत्तम है. हे यज्ञ के योग्य पौर्णमासी! जो दर्श, पौर्णमास आदि यज्ञों के द्वारा तुम्हारी अर्चना करते हैं, वे शोभन कर्मो वाले यजमान स्वर्ग में स्थित होते हैं. (४)
It is the main date worthy of yajna in the full moon days and nights. Puranmasi is the best of all nights and soma etc. O worthy of yajna! Those who worship you through yajnas like Darshan, Pournamas etc., those hosts with graceful deeds are located in heaven. (4)
