ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
प्र म॒न्दिने॑ पितु॒मद॑र्चता॒ वचो॒ यः कृ॒ष्णग॑र्भा नि॒रह॑न्नृ॒जिश्व॑ना । अ॒व॒स्यवो॒ वृष॑णं॒ वज्र॑दक्षिणं म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ॥ (१)
ऋत्विजो! जिन इंद्र ने राजा ऋजिश्वा की मित्रता के कारण कृष्ण असुर की गर्भिणी पत्नियों को मारा था, उन्हीं स्तुतिपात्र इद्र के उद्देश्य से हवि रूप अन्न के साथ-साथ स्तुति वचन बोलो. वे कामवर्षी दाएं हाथ में वज्र धारण करते हैं. रक्षा के इच्छुक हम उन्हीं इंद्र का मरुतों सहित आह्वान करते हैं. (१)
Ritvizzo! The Indra, who had killed the pregnant wives of Krishna Asura because of the friendship of King Rijishva, speak the word of praise along with the holy food as well as the holy food for the purpose of the same eulogy idra. They wear a thunderbolt in the right hand of the working year. We call upon the same Indra, who is willing to protect, along with the Maruts. (1)

यो व्यं॑सं जाहृषा॒णेन॑ म॒न्युना॒ यः शम्ब॑रं॒ यो अह॒न्पिप्रु॑मव्र॒तम् । इन्द्रो॒ यः शुष्ण॑म॒शुषं॒ न्यावृ॑णङ्म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ॥ (२)
जिन इंद्र ने अतिशय कोप के कारण बिना बांहों वाले वृत्र असुर का वध किया, जिन्होंने शंबर, यज्ञ न करने वाले पिप्रु एवं विश्वशोषक शुष्ण का नाश किया, हम उन्हीं इंद्र को मरुतों के सहित अपना मित्र बनाने के लिए बुलाते हैं. (२)
The Indra who killed the vrithra asura with no arms due to extreme wrath, who destroyed shambar, the non-performing of yajna pipru and the vishwashoshishta shushna, we call the same Indra to make our friend along with the maruts. (2)

यस्य॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी पौंस्यं॑ म॒हद्यस्य॑ व्र॒ते वरु॑णो॒ यस्य॒ सूर्यः॑ । यस्येन्द्र॑स्य॒ सिन्ध॑वः॒ सश्च॑ति व्र॒तं म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ॥ (३)
हम मित्र बनाने हेतु इंद्र को मरुतों के साथ बुलाते हैं. द्यौ, पृथिवी, सूर्य, वरुण एवं नदियां उनके नियम मानते हैं. (३)
We call Indra with the Maruts to make friends. The díau, prithvi, sun, varuna and rivers obey their laws. (3)

यो अश्वा॑नां॒ यो गवां॒ गोप॑तिर्व॒शी य आ॑रि॒तः कर्म॑णिकर्मणि स्थि॒रः । वी॒ळोश्चि॒दिन्द्रो॒ यो असु॑न्वतो व॒धो म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ॥ (४)
जो अश्चों एवं समस्त गायों के स्वामी, स्वतंत्र, स्तुति प्राप्तकर्ता, समस्त यज्ञकर्मो में स्थित एवं यज्ञ में सोम निचोड़ने वालों के प्रबल शत्रुओं को नष्ट करते हैं, हम उन्हीं इंद्र को मरुतों के साथ अपना मित्र बनाने के लिए बुलाते हैं. (४)
Those who destroy the masters of the aschas and all the cows, the independent, the recipients of praise, the strong enemies of all the yagnakarmas and those who squeeze the som in the yajna, we call upon the same Indra to make our friend with the Maruts. (4)

यो विश्व॑स्य॒ जग॑तः प्राण॒तस्पति॒र्यो ब्र॒ह्मणे॑ प्रथ॒मो गा अवि॑न्दत् । इन्द्रो॒ यो दस्यू॒ँरध॑राँ अ॒वाति॑रन्म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ॥ (५)
जो चलने वाले एवं सांस लेने वाले प्राणियों के स्वामी हैं, जिन्होंने पणि द्वारा अपहृत गायों का सभी देवों से पहले ब्राह्मणों के निमित्त उद्धार किया था एवं जिन्होंने असुरों को निकृष्ट बनाकर मारा था, उन्हीं इंद्र को हम अपना सखा बनाने के लिए मरुतों के साथ बुलाते हैं. (५)
We call indra, the one who is the lord of the walking and breathing creatures, who saved the cows abducted by Pani for the sake of Brahmins before all the gods and who killed the asuras by making them inferior, we call the same Indra with the Maruts to make them our sakha. (5)

यः शूरे॑भि॒र्हव्यो॒ यश्च॑ भी॒रुभि॒र्यो धाव॑द्भिर्हू॒यते॒ यश्च॑ जि॒ग्युभिः॑ । इन्द्रं॒ यं विश्वा॒ भुव॑ना॒भि सं॑द॒धुर्म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ॥ (६)
जो शूरों और कायरों द्वारा बुलाने योग्य हैं, युद्ध में हारकर भागने वाले एवं विजयी दोनों ही जिन्हें बुलाते हैं एवं सभी प्राणी जिन्हें अपने-अपने कायो में आगे रखते हैं, उन्हीं इंद्र को हम अपना मित्र बनाने के लिए मरुतों के साथ बुलाते हैं. (६)
Those who are worthy of being called by the knights and cowards, those who are defeated in battle and the victorious, whom both the losers and the victorious ones are called by them, and all the beings who are ahead of them in their respective bodies, we call the same Indra with the Maruts to make our friend. (6)

रु॒द्राणा॑मेति प्र॒दिशा॑ विचक्ष॒णो रु॒द्रेभि॒र्योषा॑ तनुते पृ॒थु ज्रयः॑ । इन्द्रं॑ मनी॒षा अ॒भ्य॑र्चति श्रु॒तं म॒रुत्व॑न्तं स॒ख्याय॑ हवामहे ॥ (७)
प्रकाशमान इंद्र सभी प्राणियों में प्राणरूप से वर्तमान रुद्रपुत्रों-मरुतों को मनुष्यों के लिए प्रदान करते हुए आकाश में उदित होते हैं एवं उन्हीं मरुतों के साथ प्राणियों में मध्यमा वाणी का विस्तार करते हैं. स्तुतिरूपी वाणी उन्हीं इंद्र की पूजा करती है. उन्हें हम मरुतों के साथ अपना मित्र बनाने के लिए बुलाते हैं. (७)
The luminous Indra rises in the sky, giving the present Rudraputras-Maruts to humans in the form of life in all beings and with the same maruts, he expands the medium voice among the beings. The praiseful voice worships the same Indra. We call them to make our friends with the maruts. (7)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
यद्वा॑ मरुत्वः पर॒मे स॒धस्थे॒ यद्वा॑व॒मे वृ॒जने॑ मा॒दया॑से । अत॒ आ या॑ह्यध्व॒रं नो॒ अच्छा॑ त्वा॒या ह॒विश्च॑कृमा सत्यराधः ॥ (८)
हे मरुतों सहित इंद्र! तुम उत्तम घर अथवा नवीन स्थान में प्रसन्न रहते हो. तुम हमारे यज्ञ में आओ. हे सत्यधन! तुम्हारी कामना से हम हव्य देते हैं. (८)
O Indra with the Maruts! You are happy in a good house or a new place. You come to our yagna. O Satyadhan! With your wish, we give happiness. (8)
