ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 122
जनो॒ यो मि॑त्रावरुणावभि॒ध्रुग॒पो न वां॑ सु॒नोत्य॑क्ष्णया॒ध्रुक् । स्व॒यं स यक्ष्मं॒ हृद॑ये॒ नि ध॑त्त॒ आप॒ यदीं॒ होत्रा॑भिरृ॒तावा॑ ॥ (९)
हे मित्र और वरुण! जो व्यक्ति तुम्हारा यज्ञ न करके द्रोह करता है अथवा तुम्हारे निमित्त सोमरस न निचोड़कर तुमसे शत्रुता बढ़ाता है, वह मूर्ख मनुष्य अपने आप ही अपने हृदय में यक्ष्मा रोग को धारण करता है. जो व्यक्ति यज्ञ करने वाला है एवं स्तुतिपाठ करता हुआ सोमरस निचोड़ता है, वह कुशल अश्च प्राप्त करता है. Hey friend and Varun! The man who commits enmity with you by not sacrificing you or increases enmity with you by not squeezing somras for you, that foolish man himself possesses the disease of tuberculosis in his heart. The person who is going to perform the yajna and squeezes the somras while reciting praise, attains the skilled assh. (9)
