अम॑न्दा॒न्स्तोमा॒न्प्र भ॑रे मनी॒षा सिन्धा॒वधि॑ क्षिय॒तो भा॒व्यस्य॑ । यो मे॑ स॒हस्र॒ममि॑मीत स॒वान॒तूर्तो॒ राजा॒ श्रव॑ इ॒च्छमा॑नः ॥ (१)
मैं सिंधु तीर पर रहने वाले भावयव्य के पुत्र स्वनय के निमित्त स्तोत्रों की रचना करता हूं. उस अजेय राजा ने यश प्राप्ति की इच्छा से मेरे लिए एक इजार सोमयज्ञ किए थे. (१)
I compose hymns for myself, the son of Bhavyavya, who lives on the Indus arrow. That invincible king had performed an izar somayagna for me with the desire to achieve success. (1)

श॒तं राज्ञो॒ नाध॑मानस्य नि॒ष्काञ्छ॒तमश्वा॒न्प्रय॑तान्स॒द्य आद॑म् । श॒तं क॒क्षीवा॒ँ असु॑रस्य॒ गोनां॑ दि॒वि श्रवो॒ऽजर॒मा त॑तान ॥ (२)
दानशील राजा ने मुझ कक्षीवान् से प्रार्थना की. मैंने उससे सौ स्वर्ण मुद्राएं, सौ घोड़े एवं सौ बैल स्वीकार किए. इस दान से राजा ने स्वर्गलोक में स्थायी यश प्राप्त कर लिया. (२)
The king of Dansheel prayed to me, and I accepted him a hundred gold coins, a hundred horses and a hundred oxen. With this donation, the king attained permanent success in paradise. (2)

उप॑ मा श्या॒वाः स्व॒नये॑न द॒त्ता व॒धूम॑न्तो॒ दश॒ रथा॑सो अस्थुः । ष॒ष्टिः स॒हस्र॒मनु॒ गव्य॒मागा॒त्सन॑त्क॒क्षीवा॑ँ अभिपि॒त्वे अह्ना॑म् ॥ (३)
स्वनय ने मुझे सफेद घोड़ों वाले दस रथ दिए. उन में वधुएं बैठी थीं. रथों के पीछे एक हजार साठ गाएं चल रही थीं. मैंने यह सब स्वीकार करके अगले ही दिन अपने पिता को दे दिया. (३)
Swainy gave me ten chariots with white horses. There were brides sitting in them. A thousand sixty cows were running behind the chariots. I accepted it all and gave it to my father the very next day. (3)

च॒त्वा॒रिं॒शद्दश॑रथस्य॒ शोणाः॑ स॒हस्र॒स्याग्रे॒ श्रेणिं॑ नयन्ति । म॒द॒च्युतः॑ कृश॒नाव॑तो॒ अत्या॑न्क॒क्षीव॑न्त॒ उद॑मृक्षन्त प॒ज्राः ॥ (४)
पीछे हजार गाएं हैं. आगे दस रथों में लाल रंग के चालीस घोड़े पंक्तिबद्ध होकर चलते हैं. घास लिए हुए कक्षीवान् के अनुचर घोड़ों को मलने लगे. स्वर्णाभूषणों से युक्त वे मतवाले घोड़े शत्रु का गर्व नष्ट करते हैं. (४)
There are thousands of cows in the back. Ahead of the ten chariots, forty red horses line up. The attendants of the grass-taking room began to rub the horses. Those mated horses with golden ornaments destroy the pride of the enemy. (4)

पूर्वा॒मनु॒ प्रय॑ति॒मा द॑दे व॒स्त्रीन्यु॒क्ताँ अ॒ष्टाव॒रिधा॑यसो॒ गाः । सु॒बन्ध॑वो॒ ये वि॒श्या॑ इव॒ व्रा अन॑स्वन्तः॒ श्रव॒ ऐष॑न्त प॒ज्राः ॥ (५)
हे भाइयो! मैंने पूर्वदान के अनुसार तुम्हारे लिए तीन और आठ रथ तथा बहुमूल्य गाएं स्वीकार की हैं. अंगिरा के सभी पुत्र प्रजाआं के समान परस्पर अनुराग युक्त होकर हव्य अन्न से भरी गाड़ियों सहित यश की इच्छा करें. (५)
O brothers! I have accepted three and eight chariots and precious cows for you according to the foregoing. Like all the sons of Angira, the people, be with mutual affection and wish for glory, including the vehicles full of food. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
आग॑धिता॒ परि॑गधिता॒ या क॑शी॒केव॒ जङ्ग॑हे । ददा॑ति॒ मह्यं॒ यादु॑री॒ याशू॑नां भो॒ज्या॑ श॒ता ॥ (६)
भावयव्य ने अपनी पत्नी लोमशा को लक्ष्य करके कहा-“जिस प्रकार नकुली अपने पति से चिपटी रहती है उसी प्रकार यह संभोग-योग्य युवती आलिंगन करने के पश्चात् चिरकाल रमण करती है. यह रेतोयुक्त रमणी मुझे सैकड़ों भोग प्रदान करती है.” (६)
Bhavyavya targeted his wife, Lomasha, and said, "Just as Nakuli clings to her husband, so this sexually-worthy young woman enjoys forever after embracing her. This sandy delightfully gives me hundreds of bhog." (6)

उपो॑प मे॒ परा॑ मृश॒ मा मे॑ द॒भ्राणि॑ मन्यथाः । सर्वा॒हम॑स्मि रोम॒शा ग॒न्धारी॑णामिवावि॒का ॥ (७)
लोमशा पति से कहती है-“समीप आकर मेरा स्पर्श करो. मेरे अंगों को अल्प मत समझो. मैं गंधार देश की भेड़ के समान संपूर्ण अवयव वाली एवं रोमयुक्त हूं.” (७)
Lomasha says to her husband, "Come close and touch me. Don't underestimate my limbs. I am as full-fledged as the sheep of the country of Gandhar and have a romancing." (7)
