अ॒ग्निं होता॑रमीळते॒ वसु॑धितिं प्रि॒यं चेति॑ष्ठमर॒तिं न्ये॑रिरे हव्य॒वाहं॒ न्ये॑रिरे । वि॒श्वायुं॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दसं॒ होता॑रं यज॒तं क॒विम् । दे॒वासो॑ र॒ण्वमव॑से वसू॒यवो॑ गी॒र्भी र॒ण्वं व॑सू॒यवः॑ ॥ (८)
ऋत्विज् यज्ञसंपन्नकर्तता, धन धारण करने वाले, सर्वप्रिय, बुद्धिदाता एवं नित्य प्रज्वलित अग्नि की स्तुति करते हैं एवं भली-भांति सुख प्राप्त करते हैं. अग्नि हव्यवाही, समस्त प्राणियों के जीवन, परम बुद्धि संपन्न, देवों को बुलाने वाले, यजनीय एवं सर्वज्ञ हैं. यजमान धन की इच्छा से अग्नि को हव्य देना चाहते हैं एवं आश्रय पाने वाले की इच्छा से शब्द करने वाले एवं रमणीय अग्नि को प्राप्त करते हैं. The ritwijas praise the sacrificial, the possessors of wealth, the all-loving, the wise and the eternally lit fire and achieves good happiness. The fire is the human being, the life of all beings, the one with the ultimate wisdom, the summoners of the gods, the Yajnais and the omniscient. Hosts want to give a word to the fire by the desire of money and those who speak with the desire of the one who gets shelter and get the delightful fire. (8)
