ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
पू॒र्वीर॒हं श॒रदः॑ शश्रमा॒णा दो॒षा वस्तो॑रु॒षसो॑ ज॒रय॑न्तीः । मि॒नाति॒ श्रियं॑ जरि॒मा त॒नूना॒मप्यू॒ नु पत्नी॒र्वृष॑णो जगम्युः ॥ (१)
लोपामुद्रा बोली-“हे अगस्त्य! मैं पूर्वकालिक अनेक वर्षो से रात, दिन और उषा काल में शरीर को जीर्ण करती हुई तुम्हारी सेवा में लगी रही हूं. इस समय बुढ़ापा मेरे अंगों का सौंदर्य नष्ट कर रहा है. क्या इस अवस्था में पुरुष नारियों के साथ समागम न करें? (१)
Lopamudra said, "O Agastya! I have been engaged in your service for many years in the past, in the night, day and age, while revitalizing the body. At this time old age is destroying the beauty of my limbs. Don't men have sex with women in this stage? (1)

ये चि॒द्धि पूर्व॑ ऋत॒साप॒ आस॑न्सा॒कं दे॒वेभि॒रव॑दन्नृ॒तानि॑ । ते चि॒दवा॑सुर्न॒ह्यन्त॑मा॒पुः समू॒ नु पत्नी॒र्वृष॑भिर्जगम्युः ॥ (२)
“हे अगस्त्य! प्राचीन महर्षियों ने सत्य को प्राप्त किया. वे देवों के साथ सत्य बोलते थे. उन्होंने भी पत्नियों में वीर्य का स्खलन किया और इस कार्य को समाप्त नहीं किया. तपस्या करती हुई पत्नियां भोग समर्थ पतियों के समीप जाती थीं.” (२)
"O Agastya! The ancient maharishis attained the truth. They spoke the truth with the gods. He also ejaculated semen in the wives and did not finish this task. While doing penance, the wives used to go to the able husbands." (2)

न मृषा॑ श्रा॒न्तं यदव॑न्ति दे॒वा विश्वा॒ इत्स्पृधो॑ अ॒भ्य॑श्नवाव । जया॒वेदत्र॑ श॒तनी॑थमा॒जिं यत्स॒म्यञ्चा॑ मिथु॒नाव॒भ्यजा॑व ॥ (३)
अगस्त्य ने उत्तर दिया-“हे पत्नी! हम लोग व्यर्थ ही नहीं थके हैं. हमारी तपस्या से प्रसन्न देव हमारी रक्षा करते हैं. हम सभी भोगों को भोगने में समर्थ हैं. यदि हम और तुम इच्छा करें तो इस संसार में अब भी सुखसंभोग के सैकड़ों साधन प्राप्त कर सकते हैं. (३)
Agastya replied, "O wife! We're not tired of being in vain. God pleased with our penance protects us. We are able to enjoy all the indulgences. If we and you wish, we can still have hundreds of means of happiness in this world. (3)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
न॒दस्य॑ मा रुध॒तः काम॒ आग॑न्नि॒त आजा॑तो अ॒मुतः॒ कुत॑श्चित् । लोपा॑मुद्रा॒ वृष॑णं॒ नी रि॑णाति॒ धीर॒मधी॑रा धयति श्व॒सन्त॑म् ॥ (४)
“हे पत्नी! मैं मंत्रों के जप और ब्रह्मचर्य पालन में लगा रहा. फिर भी न जाने किस कारण मुझमें काम भाव उत्पन्न हो गया. तुम लोपामुद्रा वीर्य सेचन समर्थ मुझ पति के साथ संगत हो जाओ. तुम अधीर नारी बनकर मुझ महाप्राण पुरुष का भोग करो.” (४)
"O wife! I kept engaged in chanting of mantras and observing celibacy. Yet don't know why I got a sense of work. You enable Lopamudra Semen To be compatible with my husband. You become an impatient woman and enjoy me as a great man." (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
इ॒मं नु सोम॒मन्ति॑तो हृ॒त्सु पी॒तमुप॑ ब्रुवे । यत्सी॒माग॑श्चकृ॒मा तत्सु मृ॑ळतु पुलु॒कामो॒ हि मर्त्यः॑ ॥ (५)
शिष्य कहने लगा-_“उदर में पिया हुआ सोमरस मुझे सब पापों से छुड़ाकर सुखी करे, यह प्रार्थना मैं सच्चे मन से कर रहा हूं. मैंने जो पाप किया है, उससे मेरी रक्षा हो. क्यों मनुष्य मन में बहुत सी कामनाएं करता है? (५)
The disciple said, "May the somras, which is drunk in the stomach, deliver me from all sins and make me happy, this prayer I am praying with a true heart." Protect me from the sin I have committed. Why do people have so many desires in their minds? (5)

अ॒गस्त्यः॒ खन॑मानः ख॒नित्रैः॑ प्र॒जामप॑त्यं॒ बल॑मि॒च्छमा॑नः । उ॒भौ वर्णा॒वृषि॑रु॒ग्रः पु॑पोष स॒त्या दे॒वेष्वा॒शिषो॑ जगाम ॥ (६)
“मेरे गुरु अगस्त्य ने यज्ञों द्वारा अभिमत फल एवं बहुत सी संतान की इच्छा की. उन्होंने काम और संयम दोनों उत्तम गुण प्राप्त किए एवं देवों से सच्चा आशीर्वाद पाया.” (६)
"My guru Agastya desired the fruits of the judgment and many children through the yagnas, and he obtained the best qualities of both work and restraint and received true blessings from the gods." (6)
