न॒दं न भि॒न्नम॑मु॒या शया॑नं॒ मनो॒ रुहा॑णा॒ अति॑ य॒न्त्यापः॑ । याश्चि॑द्वृ॒त्रो म॑हि॒ना प॒र्यति॑ष्ठ॒त्तासा॒महिः॑ पत्सुतः॒शीर्ब॑भूव ॥ (८)
सुंदर जल धरती पर पड़े हुए वृत्र को लांघकर उसी प्रकार आगे जा रहा है, जिस प्रकार सरिता टूटे हुए किनारों को पार करके बहती है. वह जीवित अवस्था में अपनी शक्ति से जिस जल को रोके हुए था, इस समय वह उसी जल के नीचे सो गया है. (८)
