ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 70
आ दैव्या॑नि व्र॒ता चि॑कि॒त्वाना मानु॑षस्य॒ जन॑स्य॒ जन्म॑ ॥ (२)
जो अग्नि जल, अरण्य, स्थावर एवं जंगमों के गर्भ में स्थित रहते हैं, उन्हें लोग यज्ञमंडप एवं पर्वत के ऊपर हवि देते हैं. प्रजाओं के सुख का इच्छुक राजा जिस प्रकार उनकी रक्षा करता है, उसी प्रकार मरणरहित अग्नि हमारे प्रति शोभन कर्म करें. (२)
Those who are in the womb of agni water, forest, immovable and movables, people give them yajnamandapa and on top of the mountain. Just as the king who desires the happiness of the people protects them, so let the agni without death do good deeds against us. (2)
