ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 70
गोषु॒ प्रश॑स्तिं॒ वने॑षु धिषे॒ भर॑न्त॒ विश्वे॑ ब॒लिं स्व॑र्णः ॥ (९)
हे अग्नि! हमारे काम आने वाले गाय आदि पशुओं को प्रशंसनीय बनाओ. समस्त मनुष्य हमारे लिए भेंट के रूप में धन लावें. जिस प्रकार वृद्ध पिता से पुत्र धन पाता है, उसी प्रकार यजमान अनेक देवयज्ञों के स्थलों में तुम्हारी भांति-भांति से सेवा करते एवं धनलाभ करते हैं. (९)
O agni! Make the animals like cows etc. of our use praiseworthy. May all human beings bring money as an offering for us. Just as the son gets wealth from the old father, in the same way, the host serves you in the places of many devyagyas and gains wealth. (9)
