ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
अ॒यं वे॒नश्चो॑दय॒त्पृश्नि॑गर्भा॒ ज्योति॑र्जरायू॒ रज॑सो वि॒माने॑ । इ॒मम॒पां सं॑ग॒मे सूर्य॑स्य॒ शिशुं॒ न विप्रा॑ म॒तिभी॑ रिहन्ति ॥ (१)
ज्योति द्वारा घिरे हुए वेन नामक देव आकाश में सूर्यकिरणों से उत्पन्न जल को धरती पर गिराते हैं. सूर्य के साथ जल के मिलन के समय स्तोता अपनी स्तुतियों द्वारा वेन की अर्चना इस प्रकार करते हैं, जिस प्रकार माता-पिता बच्चों को गीतों से प्रसन्न करते हैं. (१)
Surrounded by light, a god named Ven drops the water produced by the sun rays in the sky to the earth. At the time of the union of water with the sun, the stotas worship Ven by their hymns in such a way that the parents please the children with the songs. (1)

स॒मु॒द्रादू॒र्मिमुदि॑यर्ति वे॒नो न॑भो॒जाः पृ॒ष्ठं ह॑र्य॒तस्य॑ दर्शि । ऋ॒तस्य॒ साना॒वधि॑ वि॒ष्टपि॒ भ्राट् स॑मा॒नं योनि॑म॒भ्य॑नूषत॒ व्राः ॥ (२)
वेन आकाश से जल की लहरों को गिराते हैं. आकाश में उज्ज्वल मूर्ति वाले वेन की पीठ दिखाई देती है. वेन जल के ऊंचे स्थान आकाश में दीप्ति पाते हैं. वेन के अनुचरों ने उनके उत्पत्तिस्थान आकाश को शब्द से भर दिया है. (२)
Wen drop waves of water from the sky. The back of the bright statue vane is visible in the sky. The high places of the venice water find the glow in the sky. Wayne's attendants have filled the sky with the word in his place of origin. (2)

स॒मा॒नं पू॒र्वीर॒भि वा॑वशा॒नास्तिष्ठ॑न्व॒त्सस्य॑ मा॒तरः॒ सनी॑ळाः । ऋ॒तस्य॒ साना॒वधि॑ चक्रमा॒णा रि॒हन्ति॒ मध्वो॑ अ॒मृत॑स्य॒ वाणीः॑ ॥ (३)
चारों ओर शब्द करते हुए व बछड़े के समान विद्युत्-अग्नि की माता तुल्य जल वेन के साथ आकाश में स्थिर रहता है. जल के उत्पत्तिस्थान उच्च आकाश में बहते हुए मधुर जल का शब्द वेन को अलंकृत करता है. (३)
Speaking around and like a calf, the mother of agni remains constant in the sky with a water vane. The word of sweet water flowing in the high sky, the origin of the water, embellishes the vane. (3)

जा॒नन्तो॑ रू॒पम॑कृपन्त॒ विप्रा॑ मृ॒गस्य॒ घोषं॑ महि॒षस्य॒ हि ग्मन् । ऋ॒तेन॒ यन्तो॒ अधि॒ सिन्धु॑मस्थुर्वि॒दद्ग॑न्ध॒र्वो अ॒मृता॑नि॒ नाम॑ ॥ (४)
मेधावियों ने महान् पशु के समान शब्द सुनकर वेन के रूप की कल्पना की. उन्होंने यज्ञ से वेन को तृप्त करके जलसमूह को प्राप्त किया. जल के स्वामी वेन मरणरहित हैं. (४)
The meritorious people imagined the form of Ven by hearing the words of the great animal. They received the water group by satiating Ven with the yajna. Wen, the lord of water, is moribund. (4)

अ॒प्स॒रा जा॒रमु॑पसिष्मिया॒णा योषा॑ बिभर्ति पर॒मे व्यो॑मन् । चर॑त्प्रि॒यस्य॒ योनि॑षु प्रि॒यः सन्सीद॑त्प॒क्षे हि॑र॒ण्यये॒ स वे॒नः ॥ (५)
विद्युतरूपी स्त्री ने वेनरूपी पुरुष को देखकर मुसकुराते हुए उनका अंतरिक्ष में आलिंगन किया. वेन ने प्रेमी के समान प्रेयसीरूपिणी बिजली की अभिलाषा पूरी करके सोने के कक्ष में शयन किया. (५)
The electric woman saw the venous man and smiled and hugged him in space. Wayne slept in the bedroom, fulfilling his desire for a loverlike lightning. (5)

नाके॑ सुप॒र्णमुप॒ यत्पत॑न्तं हृ॒दा वेन॑न्तो अ॒भ्यच॑क्षत त्वा । हिर॑ण्यपक्षं॒ वरु॑णस्य दू॒तं य॒मस्य॒ योनौ॑ शकु॒नं भु॑र॒ण्युम् ॥ (६)
हे वेन! तुम सुनहरे पंखों वाले पक्षी के समान, स्वर्ग में उड़ने वाले, वरुण के दूत, विद्युत्- अग्नि के स्थान अंतरिक्ष में पक्षीरूप में वर्तमान एवं विश्व का भरण करने वाले हो. सब लोग हृदय में प्रेम रखते हुए तुम्हें देखते हैं. (६)
Hey Wayne! You are like a bird with golden wings, flying in heaven, the messenger of Varuna, the present in the form of a bird in space instead of electric agni and the filling of the world. Everyone sees you with love in their hearts. (6)

ऊ॒र्ध्वो ग॑न्ध॒र्वो अधि॒ नाके॑ अस्थात्प्र॒त्यङ्चि॒त्रा बिभ्र॑द॒स्यायु॑धानि । वसा॑नो॒ अत्कं॑ सुर॒भिं दृ॒शे कं स्व१॒॑र्ण नाम॑ जनत प्रि॒याणि॑ ॥ (७)
वेन जल धारण करने वाले एवं स्वर्ग के ऊंचे स्थान में रहते हैं एवं अपने चारों ओर विचित्र आयुध धारण करते हैं. वे सूर्य के समान अपने सुंदररूप में चमकते हैं एवं सबके अनुकूल जलों को उत्पन्न करते हैं. (७)
Wen are water-holding people and live in the high place of heaven and wear a strange armament around them. They shine in their beautiful form like the sun and produce water to suit everyone. (7)

द्र॒प्सः स॑मु॒द्रम॒भि यज्जिगा॑ति॒ पश्य॒न्गृध्र॑स्य॒ चक्ष॑सा॒ विध॑र्मन् । भा॒नुः शु॒क्रेण॑ शो॒चिषा॑ चका॒नस्तृ॒तीये॑ चक्रे॒ रज॑सि प्रि॒याणि॑ ॥ (८)
जलयुक्त वेन अपना कर्म पूरा करते समय गिद्ध पक्षी के समान दूर तक देखते हुए अंतरिक्ष की ओर जाते हैं. वे उज्ज्वल दीप्ति से प्रकाशित होकर तृतीय लोक अर्थात् आकाश में सबके प्रिय जल का निर्माण करते हैं. (८)
The watery vans while completing their work go to space looking as far away as the vulture bird. They are illuminated with bright radiance and create the third realm, that is, the water of everyone in the sky. (8)
