ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
प॒तं॒गम॒क्तमसु॑रस्य मा॒यया॑ हृ॒दा प॑श्यन्ति॒ मन॑सा विप॒श्चितः॑ । स॒मु॒द्रे अ॒न्तः क॒वयो॒ वि च॑क्षते॒ मरी॑चीनां प॒दमि॑च्छन्ति वे॒धसः॑ ॥ (१)
विद्वानों ने विचार करके मन की आंखों से जीवात्मारूपी पक्षी को देखा. उसे असुरों की माया घेर चुकी थी. उन विद्वानों ने सूर्यमंडल के मध्य में देखा. उन विधाताओं ने सूर्यकेरणों के स्थान में जाने की अभिलाषा की. (१)
The scholars thought and saw the living bird with the eyes of the mind. He was surrounded by the maya of the asuras. Those scholars looked into the middle of the solar system. Those legislators wished to go into the place of the sun. (1)

प॒तं॒गो वाचं॒ मन॑सा बिभर्ति॒ तां ग॑न्ध॒र्वो॑ऽवद॒द्गर्भे॑ अ॒न्तः । तां द्योत॑मानां स्व॒र्यं॑ मनी॒षामृ॒तस्य॑ प॒दे क॒वयो॒ नि पा॑न्ति ॥ (२)
वह आत्मारूपी पक्षी मन ही मन वचन को धारण करता है. गंधर्व ने यह बात उसे गर्भ में ही बताई है. विद्वान् लोग सत्य के मार्ग में उस दीप्तिशालिनी, स्वर्ग देने वाली एवं वृद्धि की स्वामिनी वाणी की रक्षा करते हैं. (२)
That soulful bird holds the word in the mind itself. Gandharva told this to her in the womb. Scholars protect that glistening, heaven-giving and the lordly voice of growth in the path of truth. (2)

अप॑श्यं गो॒पामनि॑पद्यमान॒मा च॒ परा॑ च प॒थिभि॒श्चर॑न्तम् । स स॒ध्रीचीः॒ स विषू॑ची॒र्वसा॑न॒ आ व॑रीवर्ति॒ भुव॑नेष्व॒न्तः ॥ (३)
मैंने रक्षक सूर्य को कभी पतित होते नहीं देखा, वे कभी समीपवर्ती और कभी दूरवर्ती मार्ग से चलते हैं. वे कभी बहुत से वस्त्र एक साथ और कभी अलग-अलग पहनते हैं. वे संसार में बार-बार आते हैं. (३)
I have never seen the guard sun degenerate, they sometimes walk on the nearest and sometimes the distant path. They sometimes wear too many garments together and sometimes separately. They come into the world again and again. (3)
