ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 27
स॒प्त वी॒रासो॑ अध॒रादुदा॑यन्न॒ष्टोत्त॒रात्ता॒त्सम॑जग्मिर॒न्ते । नव॑ प॒श्चाता॑त्स्थिवि॒मन्त॑ आय॒न्दश॒ प्राक्सानु॒ वि ति॑र॒न्त्यश्नः॑ ॥ (१५)
इंद्ररूपी प्रजापति के शरीर से विश्वामित्र आदि सात ऋषियों ने जन्म लिया. प्रजापति के शरीर के ऊपर वाले भाग से बालखिल्य आदि आठ ऋषि उत्पन्न हुए. भृगु आदि नौ ऋषि प्रजापति के पिछले भाग से जन्मे. अंगिरा आदि ऋषियों की उत्पत्ति अग्रभाग से हुई. ये सब ऋषि यज्ञांश का भाग करने वाले झुलोक के ऊंचे भागों को बढ़ाते हैं. Seven sages like Vishwamitra etc. were born from the body of Indrarupi Prajapati. Eight sages, such as Balkhilya, were born from the upper part of Prajapati's body. Bhrigu etc. born from the previous part of the nine sage Prajapatis. The sages like Angira etc. originated from the foreground. All these sages increase the higher parts of the jhuloka which are part of the yajnansh. (15)
