ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
अबु॑ध्रमु॒ त्य इन्द्र॑वन्तो अ॒ग्नयो॒ ज्योति॒र्भर॑न्त उ॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु । म॒ही द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी चे॑तता॒मपो॒ऽद्या दे॒वाना॒मव॒ आ वृ॑णीमहे ॥ (१)
इंद्र से संबंधित अग्नियां उषाओं द्वारा अंधकारनाश के समय तेज धारण करते हुए जाग गई हैं. विस्तृत द्यावा एवं पृथिवी भी चेतनायुक्त हों. आज मैं देवों की रक्षा का वरण करता हूं. (१)
The agnis related to Indra have been awakened by the Ushas holding fast at the time of darkness. The broad line and earth should also be conscious. Today, I choose to protect the gods. (1)

दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒व्योरव॒ आ वृ॑णीमहे मा॒तॄन्सिन्धू॒न्पर्व॑ताञ्छर्य॒णाव॑तः । अ॒ना॒गा॒स्त्वं सूर्य॑मु॒षास॑मीमहे भ॒द्रं सोमः॑ सुवा॒नो अ॒द्या कृ॑णोतु नः ॥ (२)
हम द्यावा-पृथिवी से अपनी रक्षा की प्रार्थना करते हैं. मैं माता तुल्य नदियों एवं कुरुक्षेत्र में स्थित पर्वतों से भी रक्षा की याचना करता हूं. हे सूर्य एवं उषा! मैं तुम दोनों से प्रार्थना करता हूं कि मुझे पापरहित रखो. जाने जाते हुए सोम आज हमारा मंगल करें. (२)
We pray to Dyava-Prithvivi for our protection. I also beg for protection from the rivers like mother and the mountains in Kurukshetra. O sun and usha! I pray to both of you to keep me sinless. Known mon do our good today. (2)

द्यावा॑ नो अ॒द्य पृ॑थि॒वी अना॑गसो म॒ही त्रा॑येतां सुवि॒ताय॑ मा॒तरा॑ । उ॒षा उ॒च्छन्त्यप॑ बाधताम॒घं स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ॥ (३)
विस्तृत एवं माता-पिता के समान द्यावा-पृथिवी से हम प्रार्थना करते हैं कि वे सुख पाने के लिए हम निष्पाप लोगों की रक्षा करें. अंधकार का विनाश करती हुई उषा हमारे पापों को समाप्त करे. हम प्रज्वलित अग्नि से सुख की याचना करते हैं. (३)
We pray to the broad and equal parents that we protect the innocent people in order to find happiness. May Usha, destroying darkness, put an end to our sins. We beg for happiness from the ignited agni. (3)

इ॒यं न॑ उ॒स्रा प्र॑थ॒मा सु॑दे॒व्यं॑ रे॒वत्स॒निभ्यो॑ रे॒वती॒ व्यु॑च्छतु । आ॒रे म॒न्युं दु॑र्वि॒दत्र॑स्य धीमहि स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ॥ (४)
धन की स्वामिनी, मुख्या एवं पापों का नाश करने वाली उषा हमें दान योग्य धन दे. हम बुरे धन वाले व्यक्ति के क्रोध से दूर रहना चाहते हैं. हम प्रज्वलित अग्नि से कल्याण की याचना करते हैं. (४)
May usha, the master of wealth, the chieftain and the destroyer of sins, give us the money worth giving us. We want to stay away from the anger of a person with bad money. We beg for welfare from the ignited agni. (4)

प्र याः सिस्र॑ते॒ सूर्य॑स्य र॒श्मिभि॒र्ज्योति॒र्भर॑न्तीरु॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु । भ॒द्रा नो॑ अ॒द्य श्रव॑से॒ व्यु॑च्छत स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ॥ (५)
जो उषाएं सूर्यकिरणों के साथ मिलती हैं एवं प्रकाश को धारण करके अंधकार का नाश करती हैं, वे आज हमें अन्न देने के लिए अनुकूल हों एवं अंधकार का नाश करें. हम प्रज्वलित अग्नि से कल्याण की याचना करते हैं. (५)
The usha that meets with the sun rays and destroys the darkness by holding on to the light, may they be conducive to give us food today and destroy the darkness. We beg for welfare from the ignited agni. (5)

अ॒न॒मी॒वा उ॒षस॒ आ च॑रन्तु न॒ उद॒ग्नयो॑ जिहतां॒ ज्योति॑षा बृ॒हत् । आयु॑क्षाताम॒श्विना॒ तूतु॑जिं॒ रथं॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ॥ (६)
रोगरहित उषाएं हमारे पास आवें एवं विस्तृत अग्नि तेज से मिलकर ऊपर उठें. अश्विनीकुमार हमारे पास आने के लिए अपने तेज चलने वाले रथ में घोड़े जोतें. हम प्रज्वलित अग्नि से कल्याण की याचना करते हैं. (६)
Let the disease-free ushas come to us and rise up with the wide agni. Ashwinikumar ploughed horses in his fast-moving chariot to come to us. We beg for welfare from the ignited agni. (6)

श्रेष्ठं॑ नो अ॒द्य स॑वित॒र्वरे॑ण्यं भा॒गमा सु॑व॒ स हि र॑त्न॒धा असि॑ । रा॒यो जनि॑त्रीं धि॒षणा॒मुप॑ ब्रुवे स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ॥ (७)
हे सविता देव! आज हमें श्रेष्ठ एवं वरण करने योग्य धन दो. तुम उत्तम रत्न देने वाले हो. हम धन उत्पन्न करने वाली स्तुतियां बोलते हैं. हम प्रज्वलित अग्नि से कल्याण की याचना करते हैं. (७)
O Savita Dev! Give us the best and most selectable money today. You're the best gemstone giver. We speak riches-generating praises. We beg for welfare from the ignited agni. (7)

पिप॑र्तु मा॒ तदृ॒तस्य॑ प्र॒वाच॑नं दे॒वानां॒ यन्म॑नु॒ष्या॒३॒॑ अम॑न्महि । विश्वा॒ इदु॒स्राः स्पळुदे॑ति॒ सूर्यः॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ॥ (८)
यज्ञों का देवस्तुतिरूपी भाग हमारी रक्षा करे. हम उसे जानते हैं. सूर्य प्रत्येक प्रभात में सभी वस्तुओं को स्पष्ट करते हुए आते हैं. हम प्रज्वलित अग्नि से कल्याण की याचना करते हैं. (८)
May the devasutiform part of the yagnas protect us. We know him. The sun comes in each morning clarifying all the objects. We beg for welfare from the ignited agni. (8)
