ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
ज॒ज्ञि॒ष इ॒त्था गो॒पीथ्या॑य॒ हि द॒धाथ॒ तत्पु॑रूरवो म॒ ओजः॑ । अशा॑सं त्वा वि॒दुषी॒ सस्मि॒न्नह॒न्न म॒ आशृ॑णोः॒ किम॒भुग्व॑दासि ॥ (११)
उर्वशी ने कहा-“हे पुरूरवा! धरती की रक्षा के लिए तुम पुत्ररूप में उत्पन्न हुए थे. इसी हेतु तुमने मेरे उदर में अपना तेज गर्भरूप में धारण किया था. उस समय मैंने तुम्हें बता दिया था कि किसी परिस्थिति में तुम्हारे पास नहीं रहूंगी. उस समय तुमने मेरी बात नहीं सुनी. इस समय व्यर्थ बातें क्यों कर रहे हो?” (११)
Urvashi said, "O puruva! You were born as a son to protect the earth. That's why you put your bright embodiment in my abdomen. At that time I told you that I would not be with you under any circumstances. You didn't listen to me at the time. Why are you doing useless things at this time?" (11)
