स॒मित्स॑मित्सु॒मना॑ बोध्य॒स्मे शु॒चाशु॑चा सुम॒तिं रा॑सि॒ वस्वः॑ । आ दे॑व दे॒वान्य॒जथा॑य वक्षि॒ सखा॒ सखी॑न्सु॒मना॑ यक्ष्यग्ने ॥ (१)
हे अत्यधिक प्रज्वलित अग्नि! तुम उत्तम मन से जागो. तुम अपने इधर-उधर फैलने वाले तेज के द्वारा हमें धन देने की कृपा करो. हे अतिशय द्योतमान अग्नि! देवों को हमारे यज्ञ में लाओ. तुम देवों के मित्र हो. अनुकूलतापूर्वक देवों का यज्ञ करो. (१)
O highly ignited agni! You wake up with the best mind. Please give us money by your fastness spreading around. This is a very important agni! Bring the gods to our yajna. You are friends of the gods. Perform yajna of the gods favorably. (1)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
यं दे॒वास॒स्त्रिरह॑न्ना॒यज॑न्ते दि॒वेदि॑वे॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॒ग्निः । सेमं य॒ज्ञं मधु॑मन्तं कृधी न॒स्तनू॑नपाद्घृ॒तयो॑निं वि॒धन्त॑म् ॥ (२)
वरुण, मित्र और अग्नि के जिस शरीर को पवित्र करने वाले अग्नि का प्रत्येक दिन में तीन बार यज्ञ करते हैं, वे हमारे इस जल निमित्तक यज्ञ को वर्षा आदि फलों से युक्त करें. (२)
Varuna, the friend and the one who sanctifies the body of agni, who perform yajna of agni three times in each day, should give this yajna for our water to be filled with fruits like rain, etc. (2)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
प्र दीधि॑तिर्वि॒श्ववा॑रा जिगाति॒ होता॑रमि॒ळः प्र॑थ॒मं यज॑ध्यै । अच्छा॒ नमो॑भिर्वृष॒भं व॒न्दध्यै॒ स दे॒वान्य॑क्षदिषि॒तो यजी॑यान् ॥ (३)
सब लोगों को प्रिय लगने वाली स्तुति देवों को बुलाने वाले अग्नि के समीप जावे. इडा देवों में प्रमुख, सामने आकर कामना पूर्ण करने वाले एवं वंदना के योग्य अग्नि के पास उन्हें हव्य अन्नों से प्रसन्न करने के लिए आवें. यज्ञकर्म में अत्यंत कुशल अग्नि हमारी प्रेरणा से यज्ञ करें. (३)
Go to the agni that calls the gods of praise that is dear to all people. Ida, the chief of the gods, should come forward and come to the agni worthy of the desire and worship to please them with the holy food. The most skilled agni in yajnakarma should perform yajna with our inspiration. (3)

ऊ॒र्ध्वो वां॑ गा॒तुर॑ध्व॒रे अ॑कार्यू॒र्ध्वा शो॒चींषि॒ प्रस्थि॑ता॒ रजां॑सि । दि॒वो वा॒ नाभा॒ न्य॑सादि॒ होता॑ स्तृणी॒महि॑ दे॒वव्य॑चा॒ वि ब॒र्हिः ॥ (४)
अग्नि और कुश के लिए यज्ञ में एक उत्तम मार्ग बनाया गया है. दीप्ति वाला हव्य ऊपर जाता है. होता दीप्तियुक्त यज्ञशाला के बीच में बैठा है. हम देवों से व्याप्त कुश बिछाते हैं. (४)
A perfect path has been created in the yajna for agni and kush. The glowing havya goes up. The lamplighted one is sitting in the middle of the yajnashala. We lay the kusha pervaded by the gods. (4)

स॒प्त हो॒त्राणि॒ मन॑सा वृणा॒ना इन्व॑न्तो॒ विश्वं॒ प्रति॑ यन्नृ॒तेन॑ । नृ॒पेश॑सो वि॒दथे॑षु॒ प्र जा॒ता अ॒भी॒३॒॑मं य॒ज्ञं वि च॑रन्त पू॒र्वीः ॥ (५)
मन से प्रार्थना करने योग्य एवं जल के द्वारा विश्व को सींचते हुए देवगण सात यज्ञों में जाते हैं. वे नेता रूप, यज्ञों में उत्पन्न, यज्ञ के दोनों द्वार-तुल्य देवता हमारे इस यज्ञ में शरीरसहित आवें. (५)
Worthy of prayer with heart and water watering the world, the devas go to the seven yagnas. Those leader forms, born in the yagnas, the two gates of the yajna-like deities should come with the body in this yajna of ours. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
आ भन्द॑माने उ॒षसा॒ उपा॑के उ॒त स्म॑येते त॒न्वा॒३॒॑ विरू॑पे । यथा॑ नो मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो॒ जुजो॑ष॒दिन्द्रो॑ म॒रुत्वा॑ँ उ॒त वा॒ महो॑भिः ॥ (६)
भली प्रकार स्तुत रात व दिन परस्पर मिलकर या अलग-अलग होकर प्रकाश रूपी शरीर से आवें. वे धरती और आकाश को उस तेज से युक्त करें, जिससे मित्र, वरुण एवं इंद्र हम पर कृपा करते हैं. (६)
The well-versed night and day should come together or separately from the light body. May they fill the earth and the sky with the glory that friends, Varuna and Indra, have mercy on us. (6)

दैव्या॒ होता॑रा प्रथ॒मा न्यृ॑ञ्जे स॒प्त पृ॒क्षासः॑ स्व॒धया॑ मदन्ति । ऋ॒तं शंस॑न्त ऋ॒तमित्त आ॑हु॒रनु॑ व्र॒तं व्र॑त॒पा दीध्या॑नाः ॥ (७)
अग्निरूप दोनों होताओं, दिव्य तथा मुख्य को मैं प्रसन्न करता हूं. जल संबंधी मंत्र बोलते हुए अन्नयुक्त सात ऋत्विज् हव्य द्वारा अग्नि को प्रसन्न करते हैं. यज्ञकर्मो के रक्षक एवं दीप्ति वाले ऋत्विज् प्रत्येक यज्ञ में अग्नि से सत्य बात कहते हैं. (७)
I please both the agni form, the divine and the main. By speaking water-related mantras, the seven ritwijs with food grains please the agni through the havya. The protectors of the yajnakarmas and the radiant ritvaijs say the truth to the agni in every yagna. (7)

आ भार॑ती॒ भार॑तीभिः स॒जोषा॒ इळा॑ दे॒वैर्म॑नु॒ष्ये॑भिर॒ग्निः । सर॑स्वती सारस्व॒तेभि॑र॒र्वाक्ति॒स्रो दे॒वीर्ब॒र्हिरेदं स॑दन्तु ॥ (८)
भारती अर्थात् वाणी सूर्यवंशी लोगों के साथ तथा इडा और अग्नि देवों एवं मनुष्यों के साथ आवें. सरस्वती सारस्वतजनों के साथ आवें. ये तीनों देवियां आकर हमारे सामने कुशों पर बैठें. (८)
Bharati means that the voice should come with the Suryavanshi people and Ida and agni with gods and human beings. Saraswati should come with the Saraswatjans. These three ladies come and sit on the cushions in front of us. (8)
