न साय॑कस्य चिकिते जनासो लो॒धं न॑यन्ति॒ पशु॒ मन्य॑मानाः । नावा॑जिनं वा॒जिना॑ हासयन्ति॒ न ग॑र्द॒भं पु॒रो अश्वा॑न्नयन्ति ॥ (२३)
हे मनुष्यो! तुम विश्वामित्र के मंत्रों की शक्ति नहीं जानते हो. तपस्या नष्ट होने के लोभ से चुप बैठे हुए मुझे तुम पशु के समान बांधकर ले जा रहे हो. सर्वज्ञ मूर्ख की हंसी नहीं उड़ाता और न गधे को घोड़े के सामने लाया जाता है. (२३)
O men! You don't know the power of Vishwamitra's mantras. Sitting in silence with the greed of the destruction of penance, you are taking me like an animal. The omniscient fool does not laugh, nor is the donkey brought before the horse. (23)
