ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
म॒न्द्रस्य॑ क॒वेर्दि॒व्यस्य॒ वह्ने॒र्विप्र॑मन्मनो वच॒नस्य॒ मध्वः॑ । अपा॑ न॒स्तस्य॑ सच॒नस्य॑ दे॒वेषो॑ युवस्व गृण॒ते गोअ॑ग्राः ॥ (१)
हे इंद्र! तुम हमारे नशीले, वीरताप्रेरक, दिव्य, बुद्धिमानों द्वारा प्रशंसित, प्रसिद्ध एवं प्रसन्रताकारक सोम को पिओ एवं हमें गाएं आदि धन दो. (१)
O Indra! You drink our intoxicating, heroic, divine, wisely admired, famous and pleasing mon and give us money, sing etc. (1)

अ॒यमु॑शा॒नः पर्यद्रि॑मु॒स्रा ऋ॒तधी॑तिभिरृत॒युग्यु॑जा॒नः । रु॒जदरु॑ग्णं॒ वि व॒लस्य॒ सानुं॑ प॒णीँर्वचो॑भिर॒भि यो॑ध॒दिन्द्रः॑ ॥ (२)
इन इंद्र ने पर्वत के द्वारा घिरी हुई गायों के उद्धार की इच्छा से यज्ञ करने वाले अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों की सच्ची स्तुतियों से प्रभावित होकर असुर को सहायता करने वाले पर्वत को तोड़ा एवं अपने प्रसिद्ध आयुधों से पणियों से युद्ध किया. (२)
These Indras, influenced by the true praises of the Angiragotrian sages who performed yajna with the desire for the salvation of the cows surrounded by the mountain, broke the mountain that helped the asuras and fought the pangs with their famous weapons. (2)

अ॒यं द्यो॑तयद॒द्युतो॒ व्य१॒॑क्तून्दो॒षा वस्तोः॑ श॒रद॒ इन्दु॑रिन्द्र । इ॒मं के॒तुम॑दधु॒र्नू चि॒दह्नां॒ शुचि॑जन्मन उ॒षस॑श्चकार ॥ (३)
हे इंद्र! इस सोमरस ने दीप्तिरहित रात, दिन, वर्ष आदि को प्रकाशित किया था. देवों ने पहले सोम को दिवसों के ध्वज के रूप में स्वीकार किया था. इसी सोमरस ने उषाओं को शोभनजन्म वाली बनाया था. (३)
O Indra! This Somras had published the night, day, year, etc. without the lights. The Devas had earlier accepted Som as the flag of days. It was this Somras that made the Ushas with divine birth. (3)

अ॒यं रो॑चयद॒रुचो॑ रुचा॒नो॒३॒॑ऽयं वा॑सय॒द्व्यृ१॒॑तेन॑ पू॒र्वीः । अ॒यमी॑यत ऋत॒युग्भि॒रश्वैः॑ स्व॒र्विदा॒ नाभि॑ना चर्षणि॒प्राः ॥ (४)
इन्हीं दीप्तिशून्य इंद्र ने सूर्य के रूप में प्रकाशित होकर सब लोकों को प्रकाशयुक्त एवं तेज के द्वारा उषाओं को तेजपूर्ण किया था. प्रजाओं की अभिलाषाएं पूरी करने वाले इंद्र ने स्तुतियों के अनुसार चलने वाले घोड़ों से खींचे गए एवं धन प्राप्त करने वाले रथ पर बैठकर गमन किया था. (४)
It was this brightly lit up Indra who had illuminated all the realms as the Sun and made the ushas bright by lighting and brightening all the people. Indra, who fulfilled the wishes of the people, walked on a chariot that was drawn from horses that ran according to the praises and received wealth. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
नू गृ॑णा॒नो गृ॑ण॒ते प्र॑त्न राज॒न्निषः॑ पिन्व वसु॒देया॑य पू॒र्वीः । अ॒प ओष॑धीरवि॒षा वना॑नि॒ गा अर्व॑तो॒ नॄनृ॒चसे॑ रिरीहि ॥ (५)
हे प्राचीन एवं तेजस्वी इंद्र! तुम स्तुति सुनकर धन के पात्र स्तोता को अधिक अन्न दो. तुम उसे जल, ओषशियां, विषहीन वन, गाएं, घोड़े एवं सेवक प्रदान करो. (५)
O ancient and glorious Indra! You hear the praise and give more food to the potable hymn of wealth. Give him water, herbs, poisonous forests, cows, horses and servants. (5)
