ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
यो अ॑द्रि॒भित्प्र॑थम॒जा ऋ॒तावा॒ बृह॒स्पति॑राङ्गिर॒सो ह॒विष्मा॑न् । द्वि॒बर्ह॑ज्मा प्राघर्म॒सत्पि॒ता न॒ आ रोद॑सी वृष॒भो रो॑रवीति ॥ (१)
पर्वत का भेदन करने वाले, सबसे पहले उत्पन्न, सत्ययुक्त, अंगिरा के पुत्र, यज्ञ के भागी, दोनों लोकों में गतिशील, अतिशय दीप्त स्थान में रहने वाले एवं हमारे पालनकर्ता बृहस्पति कामपूरक बनकर धरती-आकाश में गर्जन करते हैं. (१)
The one who penetrates the mountain, the first born, the truthful, the son of Angira, the bhagi of the yagna, who is dynamic in both the realms, living in a very bright place and our lord Jupiter, roars in the earth and the sky. (1)

जना॑य चि॒द्य ईव॑त उ लो॒कं बृह॒स्पति॑र्दे॒वहू॑तौ च॒कार॑ । घ्नन्वृ॒त्राणि॒ वि पुरो॑ दर्दरीति॒ जय॒ञ्छत्रू॑ँर॒मित्रा॑न्पृ॒त्सु साह॑न् ॥ (२)
जो बृहस्पति स्तुति करने वाले को यज्ञ में स्थान देते हैं, वे ही ढकने वाले अंधकार को दूर करते हुए युद्धों में शत्रुओं को जीतते हैं एवं अमित्रों को हराते हैं. वे राक्षसों के नगरों को बार-बार जलाते हैं. (२)
It is Jupiter who gives place to the one who praises in the yagna, who overcomes the covering darkness, conquers the enemies in wars and defeats the unfriendly. They burn the cities of demons again and again. (2)

बृह॒स्पतिः॒ सम॑जय॒द्वसू॑नि म॒हो व्र॒जान्गोम॑तो दे॒व ए॒षः । अ॒पः सिषा॑स॒न्स्व१॒॑रप्र॑तीतो॒ बृह॒स्पति॒र्हन्त्य॒मित्र॑म॒र्कैः ॥ (३)
इन बृहस्पति देव ने असुरों के धनों के साथ-साथ उनकी गायों से पूर्ण गोचर भूमि को जीता था. बृहस्पति किसी के द्वारा न रोके जाते हुए यज्ञकर्म द्वारा स्वर्ग को भोगने की इच्छा करते हैं एवं मंत्रों द्वारा शत्रु का नाश करते हैं. (३)
These Jupiter gods had won the entire transit land from the wealth of the asuras as well as their cows. Jupiter, without being stopped by anyone, desires to enjoy heaven through yajnakarma and destroys the enemy through mantras. (3)
