ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 75
वा॒जिनी॑वती॒ सूर्य॑स्य॒ योषा॑ चि॒त्राम॑घा रा॒य ई॑शे॒ वसू॑नाम् । ऋषि॑ष्टुता ज॒रय॑न्ती म॒घोन्यु॒षा उ॑च्छति॒ वह्नि॑भिर्गृणा॒ना ॥ (५)
अन्न की स्वामिनी सूर्य की पत्नी एवं विचित्र धन से युक्त उषा सभी धनों की अधिकारिणी है. ऋषियों द्वारा स्तुत, बुढ़ापे तक लंबी उम्र देने वाली एवं धनयुक्ता उषा यजमान की स्तुतियां सुनकर प्रकाश करती है. (५)
The wife of the sun, the owner of the food, and Usha, who is with strange wealth, is the possessor of all the wealth. Praised by the sages, the long-term giver to old age and the rich usha lights up listening to the praises of the host. (5)
