सामवेद (अध्याय 25)
अबोधि होता यजथाय देवानूर्ध्वो अग्निः सुमनाः प्रातरस्थात् । समिद्धस्य रुशददर्शि पाजो महान्देवस्तमसो निरमोचि ॥ (२)
हे अग्नि! आप यज्ञ के प्रबल आधार हैं. देवों के लिए (हवि पहुंचाने हेतु) आप को प्रज्वलित किया जाता है. आप ऊर्ध्वगामी हैं व सुबह अच्छे मन से ऊपर की ओर जाते हैं आप महान हैं. आप को हम प्रत्यक्ष देख सकते हैं. आप देवताओं व संसार को अंधकार से दूर करते हैं. (२)
O agni! You are the strong base of yajna. You are ignited for the gods (to convey the havi). You are upward and go upstairs with a good heart in the morning, you are great. We can see you directly. You remove the gods and the world from darkness. (2)
