यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 14)
यवा॑नां भा॒गोऽस्यय॑वाना॒माधि॑पत्यं प्र॒जा स्पृ॒ताश्च॑तुश्चत्वारि॒ꣳश स्तोम॑ऽ ऋभू॒णां भा॒गोऽसि॒ विश्वे॑षां दे॒वाना॒माधि॑पत्यं भू॒तꣳ स्पृ॒तं त्र॑यस्त्रि॒ꣳश स्तोमः॑ ॥ (२६)
हे इष्टके! आप शुक्लपक्ष की तिथियों के भाग हैं. आप पर कृष्णपक्ष की तिथियों का अधिकार है. आप ने चत्वारिंशत स्तोम से प्रजा की रक्षा की. अतः उस का ध्यान धारण करते हुए हम आप को यहां स्थापित करते हैं. हे इष्टके! आप ऋतुओं के भाग हैं. आप पर देवों का अधिकार है. त्रयस्त्रिंशत स्तोम से आप ने प्राणियों की रक्षा की. अतः हम उस का ध्यान करते हुए आप की यहां स्थापना करते हैं. O god! You are part of shukla paksha dates. You have the right to the dates of Krishna Paksha. You protected the people from the fourth stom, so taking care of that, we establish you here. O god! You are part of the seasons. You have the right of gods. You protected the creatures from triassinshat stom, so we set you up here by meditating on it. (26)
