यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 15)
अ॒यमु॑त्त॒रात् सं॒यद्व॑सु॒स्तस्य॒ तार्क्ष्य॒श्चारि॑ष्टनेमिश्च सेनानीग्राम॒ण्यौ। वि॒श्वाची॑ च घृ॒ताची॑ चाप्स॒रसा॒वापो॑ हे॒तिर्वातः॒ प्रहे॑ति॒स्तेभ्यो॒ नमो॑ऽअस्तु॒ ते नो॑ऽवन्तु॒ ते नो॑ मृडयन्तु॒ ते यं द्वि॒ष्मो यश्च॑ नो॒ द्वेष्टि॒ तमे॑षां जम्भे॑ दध्मः ॥ (१८)
यह इष्टका देव उत्तर दिशा में प्रतिष्ठित, धन स्वरूप व यज्ञ स्वरूप हैं. इन के हथियार तीक्ष्ण व शत्रुनाशक व अन्त्रशस्त्र विस्तारक हैं. वे अपराजित हैं. वे विश्वपालक व ग्राम पालक हैं. अग्रणी इन की विश्वाची तथा घृताची नामक दो अप्सराएं हैं. जल इन के आयुध हैं. वायु इन के तीक्ष्ण हथियार हैं. अग्नि हमें सुख प्रदान करें. जो हम से द्वेष करते हैं और जिन से हम द्वेष करते हैं, उन सब को अग्नि अपने जबड़े में धारने की कृपा करें. This ishtaka dev is revered in the north direction, in the form of wealth and sacrifice. Their weapons are sharp and anti-enemy and anti-weapons and explosive. They are undefeated. They are world keepers and village keepers. The pioneer of them is two nymphs named Vishwachi and Ghritachi. Water is the weapon of these. Air is their sharp weapon. May agni give us happiness. Please hold agni in your jaws all those who hate us and those we hate. (18)
