यजुर्वेद:
पृष॑दश्वा म॒रुतः॒ पृश्नि॑मातरः शुभं॒ यावा॑नो वि॒दथे॑षु जग्म॑यः।अ॒ग्नि॒जि॒ह्वा मन॑वः॒ सूर॑चक्षसो॒ विश्वे॑ नो दे॒वाऽअव॒साग॑मन्नि॒ह ॥ (२०)
मरुद्गण शक्तिशाली व वेगवान घोड़ों बाले हैं. अदिति देवी मरुद्गण की माता हैं. मरुद्गण सब का कल्याण करने बाले हैं. अग्नि रूपी जीभ व सूर्य रूपी आंख बाले हैं. वे हमारे लिए सभी देवताओं को साथ ले कर यहां यज्ञ में आने की कृपा करें. (२०)
Marudgans are powerful and fast horses. Aditi Devi is the mother of Marudgan. Marudgan is for the welfare of all. The tongue in the form of agni and the eyes of the sun are shining. May they please take all the gods along for us and come here for the yagna. (20)
