यजुर्वेद:
तनू॒नपा॒दसु॑रो वि॒श्ववे॑दा दे॒वो दे॒वेषु॑ दे॒वः।प॒थो अ॑नक्तु॒ मध्वा॑ घृ॒तेन॑ ॥ (१२)
हे अग्नि! आप देवताओं के देव, सर्वज्ञाता, शरीर रक्षक व असुरनाशक हैं. आप मधुर घी की आहुतियों से अपने पथ पर बढ़ने की कृपा कीजिए. आप हमें भी रेष्ठ मार्ग पर बढ़ने की प्रेरणा दीजिए. (१२)
O agni! You are the god of gods, the omniscient, the protector of the body and the destroyer of the body. Please move on your path with the offerings of sweet ghee. You also inspire us to move on the path of the road. (12)
