यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 29)
यदक्र॑न्दः प्रथ॒मं जाय॑मानऽउ॒द्यन्त्स॑मु॒द्रादु॒त वा॒ पुरी॑षात्।श्ये॒नस्य॑ प॒क्षा ह॑रि॒णस्य॒ बा॒हूऽउ॑प॒स्तुत्यं॒ महि॑ जा॒तं ते॑ऽअर्वन् ॥ (१२)
हे मेघ देव! आप की गति बाज पक्षी की गति जैसी है. आप हिरण बाहु की तरह चंचल हैं. आप सर्वप्रथम उत्पन्न हुए. उत्पन्न होते ही आप ने क्रंदन किया. आप समुद्र से उत्पन्न हुए. उत्पन्न होते ही आप स्तुत्य हो गए, आप की महिमा सर्वत्र व्याप्त हो गई. (१२)
O Megh Dev! The speed of you is like the speed of the eagle bird. You are as playful as a deer arm. You were born first. You cried as soon as it was born. You originated from the sea. As soon as you were born, you became praiseworthy, your glory spread everywhere. (12)
