यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 29)
आ ज॑ङ्घन्ति॒ सान्वे॑षां ज॒घनाँ॒२ऽउप॑ जिघ्नते।अश्वा॑जनि॒ प्रचे॑त॒सोऽश्वा॑न्त्स॒मत्सु॑ चोदय ॥ (५०)
हे अश्व प्रेरक! चाबुक आप घोड़ों को आगे बढ़ने की प्रेरणा दें. चेते हुए मन बाले घुड़्सवार घोड़ों के उभरे अंग पर चोट करते हैं. उन के पुट्ठों पर चाबुक चलाते हैं. चाबुक घोड़ों को प्रेरित करने वाले हों. (५०)
O horse-inspiring! Whip you inspire horses to move forward. The conscious mind hurts the raised limbs of horse-riding horses. They whip on their lips. Whips should inspire horses. (50)
