यजुर्वेद:
ध॒र्त्ता दि॒वो वि भा॑ति॒ तप॑सस्पृथि॒व्यां ध॒र्त्ता दे॒वो दे॒वाना॒मम॑र्त्यस्तपो॒जाः।वाच॑म॒स्मे नि य॑च्छ देवा॒युव॑म् ॥ (१६)
परमात्मा स्वर्गलोक के धारक हैं. वे अपने तेज से पृथ्वी पर विभूषित होते हैं. वे पृथ्वी पर देवों के धारक व अपने दिव्य तप और ओज से संपन्न हैं. वे हमें दिव्य वाणी और आयु प्रदान करने की कृपा करों. (१६)
God is the holder of heaven. They adorn the earth with their brilliance. They are the holders of gods on earth and endowed with their divine penance and passion. May they bless us with divine voice and age. (16)
