अथर्ववेद (कांड 10)
यत्ते॑ पि॒तृभ्यो॒ दद॑तो य॒ज्ञे वा॒ नाम॑ जगृ॒हुः । सं॑दे॒श्या॒त्सर्व॑स्मात्पा॒पादि॒मा मु॑ञ्चन्तु॒ त्वौष॑धीः ॥ (११)
यज्ञ में पितरों का भाग देते हुए जो नाम लिया गया था, ये जड़ीबूटियां उस नाम लेने के पाप से तुझे छुड़ाएं. (११)
May these herbs, which were taken while giving part of the ancestors in the yajna, redeem you from the sin of taking that name. (11)
