अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 12
बृह॒स्पति॑राङ्गिर॒सो वज्रं॒ यमसि॑ञ्चतासुर॒क्षय॑णं व॒धम् । तेना॒हम॒मूं सेनां॒ नि लि॑म्पामि बृहस्पते॒ऽमित्रा॑न्ह॒न्म्योज॑सा ॥ (१३)
अंगिरा ऋषि के पुत्र एवं देवों के मंत्री बृहस्पति ने तथा इंद्र आदि देवों ने असुरों का वध करने वाले जिस वज्र की रचना घृत की आहुति से की है, हे देवो! उस वज्र के द्वारा मैं अपनी शत्रु सेना का विनाश करता हूं. सेना के विनाश के कारण मैं अपने शत्रुओं का विनाश अपने बल से करूं. (१३)
Jupiter, the son of Sage Angira and the minister of the gods of the gods, and Indra, have created the thunderbolt that kills the asuras with the sacrifice of hatred, O Gods! With that thunderbolt, I destroy my enemy army. Because of the destruction of the army, I should destroy my enemies with my own force. (13)
