अथर्ववेद (कांड 14)

अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 1
नी॑ललोहि॒तंभ॑वति कृ॒त्यास॒क्तिर्व्यज्यते । एध॑न्ते अस्या ज्ञा॒तयः॒ पति॑र्ब॒न्धेषु॑बध्यते ॥ (२६)
जब नीला और लाल वस्त्र होता है अथवा पुरुष क्रोधित होता है, तभी यह कृत्या अर्थात्‌ विनाशक स्वभाव वाली स्त्री बढ़ती है तथा इस की जाति के मनुष्यों की वृद्धि होती है. इसी के कारण इस का पति बंधन में बंध जाता है. (२६)
When there is blue and red clothes or the man is angry, then only this act, that is, the woman with a destructive nature, grows and the human beings of her race increase. Due to this, her husband is tied in bondage. (26)
