अथर्ववेद (कांड 14)
यदा॑स॒न्द्यामु॑प॒धाने॒ यद्वो॑प॒वास॑ने कृ॒तम् । वि॑वा॒हे कृ॒त्यां यांच॒क्रुरा॒स्नाने॒ तां नि द॑ध्मसि ॥ (६५)
हम ने असंदी अर्थात् कुरसी पर, बिस्तर पर, सिरहाने तथा उपवस्त्र पर जो पाप किया और अपने विवाह में जो हिंसक प्रयोग किया, उसे हम स्नान के द्वारा धो डालते हैं. (६५)
We wash away the sin we committed on the asandi i.e. on the chair, on the bed, on the head and the weapon and the violent use we made in our marriage. (65)
