अथर्ववेद (कांड 18)
इ॒तश्च॑मा॒मुत॑श्चावतां य॒मे इ॑व॒ यत॑माने॒ यदै॒तम् । प्र वां॑ भर॒न्मानु॑षा देव॒यन्त॒आ सी॑दतां॒ स्वमु॑ लो॒कं विदा॑ने ॥ (३८)
हे पुरुष! जिन से हविर्धान होता है अर्थात् हवि दी जाती है, ऐसे द्यावा पृथ्वी, भूलोक और स्वर्गलोक से होने वाले भय से तेरी रक्षा करें. हे द्यावा पृथ्वी! तुम जुड़वां संतानों के समान सर्वत्र व्याप्त होने वाले हो, इसलिए तुम जगत् के पोषण के लिए आओ. स्तुतियों का समूह तुम्हें इस प्रकार प्राप्त होता है. तुम जुड़वां संतान के समक्ष जगत् के पोषण हेतु प्रयत्न करी. देवों की कृपा प्राप्त करने वाले पुरुष जब तुम्हें हवि प्रदान करें, तब तुम उस स्थान को जानती हुई, वहां प्रतिष्ठित हो जाओ. (३८)
O man! Protect you from the fear of the earth, the earth, the earth and the heavenland, which leads to the destruction of the world. O earth! You are going to be everywhere like twin children, so you come to nourish the world. This is how you receive a group of praises. You will try to nurture the world in front of twin children. When the men who receive the grace of the gods give you havi, then you know the place and become established there. (38)
