जिन बृहस्पति ने अपने घोष से पृथ्वी के छोर को भी स्तंभित किया, प्राचीन ऋषि उन का बारबार ध्यान करते हैं. वे बृहस्पति प्रसन्न करने वाली जिह्वा के स्वामी हैं. विद्वान् ब्राह्मण बृहस्पति को प्रथम स्थान देते हैं. (१)
The ancient sages meditate on Jupiter, who also pillared the end of the earth with his ghosh. He is the swami of Jupiter's pleasing tongue. Learned Brahmins give Jupiter the first place. (1)
बृह॑स्पते॒ या प॑र॒मा प॑रा॒वदत॒ आ ते॑ ऋत॒स्पृशो॒ नि षे॑दुः । तुभ्यं॑ खा॒ता अ॑व॒ता अद्रि॑दुग्धा॒ मध्व॑ श्चोतन्त्य॒भितो॑ विर॒प्शम् ॥ (३)
हे बृहस्पति! मृत का स्पर्श करने वाले ऋत्विज् तुम्हारी रक्षा साधनों वाली महान रक्षा के निमित्त बैठे हुए, पर्वतों से एकत्र किए हुए उत्तम मधु की तुम पर वर्षा करते हैं. (३)
O Jupiter! The Ritvijas, who touch the dead, shower on you the best honey collected from the mountains, sitting for the great protection of you with the means of protecting you. (3)
स सु॒ष्टुभा॒ स ऋक्व॑ता ग॒णेन॑ व॒लं रु॑रोज फलि॒गं रवे॑ण । बृह॒स्पति॑रु॒स्रिया॑ हव्य॒सूदः॒ कनि॑क्रद॒द्वाव॑शती॒रुदा॑जत् ॥ (५)
त्रचा वाले गों के द्वारा वे बृहस्पति मेघों को चीरते हैं. वे हव्य से प्रेरित हो कर इच्छा करने वाली गायों को प्राप्त होते हैं और बारबार शब्द करते हैं. (५)
They rip the Jupiter clouds through the glass of the tree. They are inspired by eve and get the cows they desire and say words again and again. (5)
