हे देवो! पाप देवता द्वारा भेजा गया दूत कबूतर हम को पीड़ित करने की इच्छा करता हुआ हमारे घर आया है. उसे लौटाने के लिए हम हवि के द्वारा तुम्हारी अर्चना करते हैं. हमारे दुपायों अर्थात् उत्तराधिकारियों और चौपायों अर्थात् पशुओं का कल्याण हो. (१)
O God! The messenger pigeon sent by the sin god has come to our house wishing to afflict us. To return it, we worship you through Havi. Let the welfare of our dupas i.e. heirs and chaupayas i.e. animals. (1)
हे देवो! पाप देवता द्वारा भेजा हुआ कबूतर हमारे लिए सुखकारी हो तथा घरों को पीड़ित न करे, क्योंकि यह अनपराधक है. इस के लिए मेधावी अग्नि हमारे हवि को स्वीकार करें. उस की कृपा से पंखों वाला कबूतर नाम का आयुध हमें छोड़ दे. (२)
O God! The pigeon sent by the sin god should be pleasant for us and do not make the houses suffer, because it is unbreakable. For this, accept the meritorious agni our havi. By his grace, leave us with a weapon named pigeon with wings. (2)
पंखों वाला आयुध अर्थात् कबूतर हमें न मारे. वह दावाग्नि से व्याप्त वन में चला जाए. हे देवो! वह कबूतर हमारी गायों और पुरुषों को सुख देने वाला हो. वह कबूतर हमारी हिंसा न करे. (३)
The winged armament i.e. pigeon should not kill us. He should go to the forest with agni. O God! May that pigeon give happiness to our cows and men. That pigeon should not do us violence. (3)
