धरती और आकाश का निर्माण करने वाले सविता देव की मैं स्तुति करता हूं. ये सविता देव कमनीय कर्म करने वाले, यथार्थ के प्रेरक, रत्नों को धारण करने वाले एवं सब का प्रिय करने वाले हैं, इसलिए सब के माननीय हैं. (१)

जिन सविता देव की व्याप्त करने वाली दीप्ति उत्कृष्ट है तथा सारे जगत् को प्रकाशित करती है उन की आज्ञा होने पर शोभन कर्म वाले ब्रह्मा हाथ में सोना ले कर कल्पना के द्वारा सुख देने वाले सोम का निर्माण करते हैं. (२)

हे सविता देव! इस प्रमुख एवं पुष्टि की कामना करने वाले यजमान को पुत्र, पौत्र आदि संतान की प्रेरणा दो. इस पुष्टि चाहने वाले यजमान को उत्तमता प्रदान करो. हे सविता देव! इस के पश्चात हमारे लिए प्रतिदिन वरण करने योग्य फल एवं अधिक मात्रा में पशु प्रदान करो. (३)

दान देने की इच्छा रखने वाले, श्रेष्ठ एवं सब के प्रेरक सविता देव धन एवं बल प्रदान करते हुए तथा पूर्वजों के पास से सौ वर्ष की आयु देते हुए निचोड़े गए सोम का पान करें पिया हुआ यह सोम सविता देव से संबंधित याग में सविता देव को प्रसन्न करे. सभी ओर व्याप्त होने वाला वह सोम सविता देव के पेट में निवास करे. (४)
