हे अग्नि! कोई तुम्हें तनिक भी पराजित नहीं कर सकता. हे जातवेद! अमर, विराट् और क्षत्र बल को धारण करने वाले वरुण हमारे इस यज्ञ स्थल में अतिशय दीप्त बनें तथा सभी रोगों का विनाश कर के इस समय सभी मनुष्य संबंधी कल्याणों से हमारे घरों की रक्षा करें. (१)
O agni! No one can defeat you at all. O Jataved! Varuna, who wears immortal, vast and kshatra force, should be very bright in this yajna place of ours and destroy all diseases and protect our homes from all human welfare at this time. (1)
हे इंद्र! तुम कष्ट से त्राण करने वाले बल को धारण कर के उत्पन्न हुए हो. हे अभिमत फल देने वाले! जो हम मनुष्यों की उत्पत्ति के पश्चात शत्रु के समान आचरण करता है, उस को हम से दूर कर के तुम ने देवों के लिए स्वर्ग नाम का विस्तीर्ण लोक बनाया है. (२)
O Indra! You have been born by wearing the force that hurts suffering. O one who gives you the fruit! After the creation of us human beings, you have made a vast world called heaven for the gods by removing him from us. (2)
इंद्र बुरे चरणों वाले एवं पर्वत निवासी सिंह के समान भयानक हैं. वह अत्यधिक दूरवर्ती आकाश से आएं. आने के पश्चात वे अपने गतिशील वज्र को भलीभांति तेज कर के हमारे शत्रुओं को मारें तथा संग्राम के लिए उद्यत अन्य शत्रुओं का भी विनाश करें. (३)
Indra is as terrible as a lion with bad feet and a mountain dweller. Come from the very distant sky. After coming, they should intensify their moving thunderbolt and kill our enemies and also destroy other enemies aimed at the war. (3)
