भूरि॑कर्मणे वृष॒भाय॒ वृष्णे॑ स॒त्यशु॑ष्माय सुनवाम॒ सोम॑म् । य आ॒दृत्या॑ परिप॒न्थीव॒ शूरोऽय॑ज्वनो वि॒भज॒न्नेति॒ वेदः॑ ॥ (६)
अनेकविध कर्मयुक्त, देवों में श्रेष्ठ, इच्छापूर्ति में समर्थ एवं यथार्थ शक्ति वाले इंद्र के निमित्त हम सोम निचोड़ते हैं. जिस प्रकार बटमार जानेवाले भले मनुष्यों का धन छीन लेता है, उसी प्रकार शूर इंद्र धन का आदर करके यज्ञ न करने वालों का धन छीनकर उसे यजमानों को देने के लिए ले जाते हैं. (६)
For indra, who has many deeds, is superior to the gods, is capable of wanting and has real power, we squeeze the som. Just as the one who goes to batamara takes away the wealth of good men, so the brave Indra honors the wealth and takes away the money of those who do not perform yajna and takes it away to give it to the hosts. (6)
