वृष्णे॒ शर्धा॑य॒ सुम॑खाय वे॒धसे॒ नोधः॑ सुवृ॒क्तिं प्र भ॑रा म॒रुद्भ्यः॑ । अ॒पो न धीरो॒ मन॑सा सु॒हस्त्यो॒ गिरः॒ सम॑ञ्जे वि॒दथे॑ष्वा॒भुवः॑ ॥ (१)
हे नोधा! कामपूरक, शोभन यज्ञसंपन्न एवं पुष्प, फल आदि के निर्माणकर्ता मरुद्गणों के प्रति सुंदर स्तुतियों का उच्चारण करो. मैं हाथ जोड़कर धीरतापूर्वक मन से उन स्तुतियों का प्रयोग करता हूं, जिनके द्वारा देवसमूह उसी भांति यज्ञस्थल की ओर अभिमुख किया जा सकता है, जिस भांति मेघ एक साथ बहुत सी बूंदें गिराते हैं. Oh, Nodha! Recite beautiful praises to the marudganas, the creators of kampurak, shobhan yajnasampanas and flowers, fruits, etc. I use with folded hands patiently with all my heart the praises by which the godly group can be oriented towards the place of yajna in the same way that the clouds drop so many drops at once. (1)

ते ज॑ज्ञिरे दि॒व ऋ॒ष्वास॑ उ॒क्षणो॑ रु॒द्रस्य॒ मर्या॒ असु॑रा अरे॒पसः॑ । पा॒व॒कासः॒ शुच॑यः॒ सूर्या॑ इव॒ सत्वा॑नो॒ न द्र॒प्सिनो॑ घो॒रव॑र्पसः ॥ (२)
दर्शनीय, पौरुषयुक्त एवं रुद्ररूप मरुद्गण अंतरिक्ष से उत्पन्न हुए हैं. मरुद्गण शत्रुनाशक, पापरहित, सबको शुद्ध करने वाले, सूर्यकिरणों के समान, रुद्रगण के तुल्य बलशाली, वर्षा की बूंदों को धारण करने वाले एवं घोर रूप हैं. (२)
The spectacular, virility and rudrarupa deserts originated from space. The deserts are hostile, sinless, purifying all, like the sun rays, as powerful as rudragana, wearing raindrops and in a profound form. (2)

युवा॑नो रु॒द्रा अ॒जरा॑ अभो॒ग्घनो॑ वव॒क्षुरध्रि॑गावः॒ पर्व॑ता इव । दृ॒ळ्हा चि॒द्विश्वा॒ भुव॑नानि॒ पार्थि॑वा॒ प्र च्या॑वयन्ति दि॒व्यानि॑ म॒ज्मना॑ ॥ (३)
युवक एवं जरारहित मरुद्गण देवताओं को हवि न देने वालों का नाश करते हैं. कोई उनकी गति रोक नहीं सकता, क्योंकि वे पर्वत के समान दृढ़ अंग वाले हैं एवं स्तोताओं की इच्छा पूरी करते हैं. वे धरती और आकाश की दृढ़ वस्तुओं को भी अपने बल से कंपित कर दते हैं. (३)
Young men and deserters destroy those who do not give to the gods. No one can stop their speed, because they are as firm as mountains and fulfill the wishes of the psalms. They also make the strong objects of the earth and the sky tremble with their own force. (3)

चि॒त्रैर॒ञ्जिभि॒र्वपु॑षे॒ व्य॑ञ्जते॒ वक्ष॑स्सु रु॒क्माँ अधि॑ येतिरे शु॒भे । अंसे॑ष्वेषां॒ नि मि॑मृक्षुरृ॒ष्टयः॑ सा॒कं ज॑ज्ञिरे स्व॒धया॑ दि॒वो नरः॑ ॥ (४)
मरुद्गण शोभा के लिए अपने शरीर को भांति-भांति के आभूषणों से विभूषित करते हैं एवं सीने पर सुंदर हार पहनते हैं. हाथों में आयुध धारण किए हुए नेतारूप मरुद्गण आकाश से अपनी शक्ति के साथ उत्पन्न हुए थे. (४)
Marudganas adorn their bodies with a variety of ornaments and wear beautiful necklaces on the chest. The leader marudganas, holding arms in their hands, were born from the sky with their power. (4)

ई॒शा॒न॒कृतो॒ धुन॑यो रि॒शाद॑सो॒ वाता॑न्वि॒द्युत॒स्तवि॑षीभिरक्रत । दु॒हन्त्यूध॑र्दि॒व्यानि॒ धूत॑यो॒ भूमिं॑ पिन्वन्ति॒ पय॑सा॒ परि॑ज्रयः ॥ (५)
मरुतों ने स्तुतिकर्ताओं को संपत्तिशाली, मेघ आदि को कंपित एवं हिंसकों को समाप्त करके अपनी शक्ति से वायु, बिजली आदि को बनाया. इसके बाद चारों दिशाओं में जाने वाले एवं सबको कंपाने वाले मरुतों ने आकाश के मेघों को दुह कर निकले हुए जल से धरती को सींचा. (५)
The Maruts made the praiseors the wind, electricity, etc., with their power by making the rich, the clouds, etc., tremble and the violent, and the violent. After this, the maruts who went in all the four directions and shook everyone milked the clouds of the sky and irrigated the earth with the water that came out. (5)

पिन्व॑न्त्य॒पो म॒रुतः॑ सु॒दान॑वः॒ पयो॑ घृ॒तव॑द्वि॒दथे॑ष्वा॒भुवः॑ । अत्यं॒ न मि॒हे वि न॑यन्ति वा॒जिन॒मुत्सं॑ दुहन्ति स्त॒नय॑न्त॒मक्षि॑तम् ॥ (६)
ऋत्विज् जिस प्रकार घी से यज्ञभूमि को सींचते हैं, वैसे ही शोभन गति वाले मरुत् सारयुक्त जल से सारी धरती को सींचते हैं, क्योंकि घुड़सवार जिस प्रकार घोड़े को सिखाता है, उसी प्रकार वे वेगशाली मेघों को वर्षा के निमित्त अपने वश में कर लेते हैं एवं झुके हुए बादल को जलरहित बना देते हैं. (६)
Just as the ritwij irrigates the sacrificial land with ghee, they irrigate the whole earth with desert water with a gentle motion, because just as the horseman teaches the horse, in the same way they subdue the fast clouds for the sake of rain and make the inclined cloud waterless. (6)

म॒हि॒षासो॑ मा॒यिन॑श्चि॒त्रभा॑नवो गि॒रयो॒ न स्वत॑वसो रघु॒ष्यदः॑ । मृ॒गा इ॑व ह॒स्तिनः॑ खादथा॒ वना॒ यदारु॑णीषु॒ तवि॑षी॒रयु॑ग्ध्वम् ॥ (७)
हे महान् मेधावी, तेजस्वी, पर्वत के समान शक्तिसंपन्न एवं शीघ्र गतिशाली मरुद्गण! तुमने लाल रंग वाली बड़वा को शक्ति प्रदान की है, इसलिए तुम सूंड़ वाले हाथी के समान वृक्षसमूह को खाते हो. (७)
O great, brilliant, bright, mountain-like mighty and fast-moving deserters! You have given strength to the red-colored barwa, so you eat a group of trees like a trunked elephant. (7)

सिं॒हा इ॑व नानदति॒ प्रचे॑तसः पि॒शा इ॑व सु॒पिशो॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दसः । क्षपो॒ जिन्व॑न्तः॒ पृष॑तीभिरृ॒ष्टिभिः॒ समित्स॒बाधः॒ शव॒साहि॑मन्यवः ॥ (८)
उच्च ज्ञान संपन्न मरुद्गण सिंह के समान गर्जन करते हैं, वे सर्वज्ञ हरिण के समान शोभन अंग वाले हैं. शत्रुनाशक, स्तोताओं को प्रसन्न करने वाले एवं नाशकारी क्रोधयुक्त बल से संपन्न मरुद्गण शत्रु द्वारा सताए हुए यजमान की रक्षा के निमित्त अपने वाहन हरिण एवं आयुधों सहित तुरंत आते हैं. (८)
The high-knowledgeed deserts roar like lions, they are as virtuous as omniscient deer. The deserters, who are hostile, pleasing to the stoes and full of destructive angry force, come immediately with their vehicle deer and weapons to protect the host persecuted by the enemy. (8)
