ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
प्रो ष्व॑स्मै पुरोर॒थमिन्द्रा॑य शू॒षम॑र्चत । अ॒भीके॑ चिदु लोक॒कृत्सं॒गे स॒मत्सु॑ वृत्र॒हास्माकं॑ बोधि चोदि॒ता नभ॑न्तामन्य॒केषां॑ ज्या॒का अधि॒ धन्व॑सु ॥ (१)
हे स्तोताओ! इंद्र के रथ के आगे चलने वाली सेना की भली-भांति पूजा करो. इंद्र शत्रुसेनाओं के समीप आ जाने पर भी भागते नहीं. वे शत्रुओं का वध करते हैं. वे हमारे कार्यो को जानें. शन्रुओं के धनुषों पर चढ़ी हुई डोरियां नष्ट हों. (१)
O Praisers! Worship thoroughly the army that moves ahead of Indra's chariot. Indra does not run away even when he comes near the enemy forces. He destroys enemies. He know our works. The strings attached to the bows of the enemies should be destroyed. (1)

त्वं सिन्धू॒ँरवा॑सृजोऽध॒राचो॒ अह॒न्नहि॑म् । अ॒श॒त्रुरि॑न्द्र जज्ञिषे॒ विश्वं॑ पुष्यसि॒ वार्यं॒ तं त्वा॒ परि॑ ष्वजामहे॒ नभ॑न्तामन्य॒केषां॑ ज्या॒का अधि॒ धन्व॑सु ॥ (२)
हे इंद्र! नीचे बहने वाली नदियों को तुम्हीं ने मुक्त किया है. तुम्हीं ने मेघ का नाश किया है. हे इंद्र! तुम शत्रुरहित बनकर जन्म लेते हो एवं विश्व का पालन करते हो. तुम्हें सर्वोत्तम जानकर हम तुम्हे स्तुतियों से वश में करते हैं. शत्रुओं के धनुषों की डोरियां नष्ट हों. (२)
O Indra! You have freed the rivers flowing below. You have destroyed the cloud. O Indra! You are born without enemies and sustain the world. Knowing you the best, we subdue you with praises. Destroy the strings of the bows of the enemies. (2)

वि षु विश्वा॒ अरा॑तयो॒ऽर्यो न॑शन्त नो॒ धियः॑ । अस्ता॑सि॒ शत्र॑वे व॒धं यो न॑ इन्द्र॒ जिघां॑सति॒ या ते॑ रा॒तिर्द॒दिर्वसु॒ नभ॑न्तामन्य॒केषां॑ ज्या॒का अधि॒ धन्व॑सु ॥ (३)
हे इंद्र! सभी दानरहित शत्रु नष्ट हों और तुम्हारी स्तुतियां प्रारंभ हों. जो हमें मारना चाहता है. उस शत्रु को तुम मारो. तुम्हारी दानशीलता हमें धन दे तथा शत्रुओं के धनुषों की डोरियां नष्ट हों. (३)
O Indra! May all the unstained enemies perish and let your praises begin. Who wants to kill us. You kill that enemy. May your charity give us wealth and let the cords of the bows of the enemies perish. (3)

यो न॑ इन्द्रा॒भितो॒ जनो॑ वृका॒युरा॒दिदे॑शति । अ॒ध॒स्प॒दं तमीं॑ कृधि विबा॒धो अ॑सि सास॒हिर्नभ॑न्तामन्य॒केषां॑ ज्या॒का अधि॒ धन्व॑सु ॥ (४)
हे इंद्र! जो आयुध लिए हमारे चारों ओर भेड़ियों के समान घूमते हैं, उन्हें तुम धराशायी करो. तुम शत्रुओं के बाधक एवं पराभवकारी हो. शत्रुओं के धनुषों की डोरियां नष्ट हों. (४)
O Indra! Those who roam around us like wolves for armament, let them dash them. You are the obstacle and the loser of enemies. The strings of the enemies' bows are destroyed. (4)

यो न॑ इन्द्राभि॒दास॑ति॒ सना॑भि॒र्यश्च॒ निष्ट्यः॑ । अव॒ तस्य॒ बलं॑ तिर म॒हीव॒ द्यौरध॒ त्मना॒ नभ॑न्तामन्य॒केषां॑ ज्या॒का अधि॒ धन्व॑सु ॥ (५)
हे इंद्र! हमारे समान जन्म वाला जो नीच शत्रु हमें नष्ट करना चाहता है, उसकी शक्ति को इस प्रकार नीचा दिखाओ, जिस प्रकार आकाश धरती को अपने से नीचा रखता है. हमारे शत्रुओं के धनुषों की डोरियां नष्ट हों. (५)
O Indra! Let down the power of the lowly enemy who is born like us who wants to destroy us in the same way that the sky puts the earth down from itself. Let the cords of the bows of our enemies be destroyed. (5)

व॒यमि॑न्द्र त्वा॒यवः॑ सखि॒त्वमा र॑भामहे । ऋ॒तस्य॑ नः प॒था न॒याति॒ विश्वा॑नि दुरि॒ता नभ॑न्तामन्य॒केषां॑ ज्या॒का अधि॒ धन्व॑सु ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! हम तुम्हारी मित्रता की इच्छा करते हैं एवं तुम्हारी मित्रता के अनुकूल कार्य करते हैं. तुम हमें पुण्य कर्मो वाले मार्ग से आगे ले चलो. हम सभी पापों से पार हों. हमारे शत्रुओं के धनुष की डोरियां नष्ट हों. (६)
O Indra! We desire your friendship and act in harmony with your friendship. You take us forward from the path of virtuous deeds. Let us all overcome sins. Let the strings of the bows of our enemies be destroyed. (6)

अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ सु त्वमि॑न्द्र॒ तां शि॑क्ष॒ या दोह॑ते॒ प्रति॒ वरं॑ जरि॒त्रे । अच्छि॑द्रोध्नी पी॒पय॒द्यथा॑ नः स॒हस्र॑धारा॒ पय॑सा म॒ही गौः ॥ (७)
हे इंद्र! तुम हमारे लिए यह विद्या सिखाओ, जिससे स्तोता की अभिलाषा पूर्ण हो. यह धरित्रीरूपी बड़े थनों वाली गाय हजार धाराओं में दूध गिराकर हमें सुखी करे. (७)
O Indra! Teach us this knowledge, so that the desire of the psalm is fulfilled. May this cow with large trunks of the soil make us happy by dropping milk in a thousand streams. (7)
