ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
वपु॒र्नु तच्चि॑कि॒तुषे॑ चिदस्तु समा॒नं नाम॑ धे॒नु पत्य॑मानम् । मर्ते॑ष्व॒न्यद्दो॒हसे॑ पी॒पाय॑ स॒कृच्छु॒क्रं दु॑दुहे॒ पृश्नि॒रूधः॑ ॥ (१)
विद्वान् स्तोता के सामने मरुतों का परस्पर समान, अतिशय-स्थिर, प्रसन्न करने वाला एवं सर्वदा गतिशीलरूप शीघ्र प्रकट हो. वह रूप मर्त्यलोक में वनस्पति के रूप में अभिलाषा पूरी करने को प्रकट होता है एवं वर्ष में एक बार आकाश से सफेद रंग का जल टपकाता है. (१)
In front of the learned stota, the mutually equal, very stable, pleasing and ever-moving form of the maruts may appear quickly. That form appears to fulfill the desire in the form of vegetation in the martylok and once a year, white colored water drips from the sky. (1)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
ये अ॒ग्नयो॒ न शोशु॑चन्निधा॒ना द्विर्यत्त्रिर्म॒रुतो॑ वावृ॒धन्त॑ । अ॒रे॒णवो॑ हिर॒ण्यया॑स एषां सा॒कं नृ॒म्णैः पौंस्ये॑भिश्च भूवन् ॥ (२)
जो मरुत् जलती हुई अग्नियों के समान प्रकाशित होते हैं एवं अपनी इच्छानुसार दूनेतिगुने बढ़ते हैं, उनके रथ धूलिरहित एवं सोने के अलंकारों वाले हैं. वे धनों एवं बलों के साथ प्रकट होते हैं. (२)
Those who are illuminated like desert-burning agnis and grow twice as much as they want, their chariots are dustless and with gold ornaments. They appear with money and forces. (2)

रु॒द्रस्य॒ ये मी॒ळ्हुषः॒ सन्ति॑ पु॒त्रा याँश्चो॒ नु दाधृ॑वि॒र्भर॑ध्यै । वि॒दे हि मा॒ता म॒हो म॒ही षा सेत्पृश्निः॑ सु॒भ्वे॒३॒॑ गर्भ॒माधा॑त् ॥ (३)
जो मरुत् कामवर्षी रुद्र के पुत्र हैं एवं धारण करने वाला अंतरिक्ष जिन्हें भरण करने में समर्थ है, उन मरुतों की परमप्रसिद्ध एवं महती माता पृश्नि मानवों के शोभनजन्म के लिए गर्भ धारण करती है. (३)
The most famous and great mother of the maruts who are the sons of the desert working rudra and the space that is able to be filled with hold, conceives for the adornment of the earthly human beings. (3)

न य ईष॑न्ते ज॒नुषोऽया॒ न्व१॒॑न्तः सन्तो॑ऽव॒द्यानि॑ पुना॒नाः । निर्यद्दु॒ह्रे शुच॒योऽनु॒ जोष॒मनु॑ श्रि॒या त॒न्व॑मु॒क्षमा॑णाः ॥ (४)
मरुद्गण अपने स्तुतिकर्ताओं के पास सवारी से नहीं जाते, अपितु सबके अंतःकरण में रहकर पापों को न्ट करते हैं. दीप्तिशाली मरुद्गण जब स्तोताओं की इच्छानुसार जल दुहते हैं, तब शोभा से युक्त होकर अपने शरीर को प्रकट करते एवं धरती को सींचते हैं. (४)
Deserts do not go to their praiseors by ride, but in the hearts of all, they do not commit sins. When the bright deserts milk the water according to the wishes of the stoetas, they are adorned with splendour, they reveal their bodies and irrigate the earth. (4)

म॒क्षू न येषु॑ दो॒हसे॑ चिद॒या आ नाम॑ धृ॒ष्णु मारु॑तं॒ दधा॑नाः । न ये स्तौ॒ना अ॒यासो॑ म॒ह्ना नू चि॑त्सु॒दानु॒रव॑ यासदु॒ग्रान् ॥ (५)
मरुतों के प्रति प्रभावशाली मारुतस्तोत्र का उच्चारण करके स्तोता शीघ्र ही अभिलाषाएं पूरी कर लेते हैं. जो तिरोहित, गतिशील एवं महान् हैं, उन्हीं उग्र-मरुतों को शोभनहवि धारण करने वाला यजमान क्रोधरहित करता है. (५)
The hymns quickly fulfill their desires by pronouncing the effective Marutstotra towards the Maruts. Those who are three-sided, dynamic and great, the host who holds the same fierce-hearted people is freed from anger. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
त इदु॒ग्राः शव॑सा धृ॒ष्णुषे॑णा उ॒भे यु॑जन्त॒ रोद॑सी सु॒मेके॑ । अध॑ स्मैषु रोद॒सी स्वशो॑चि॒राम॑वत्सु तस्थौ॒ न रोकः॑ ॥ (६)
उग्र एवं शक्तिशाली मरुद्गण शक्तिशाली-सेवा को शोभनरूप वाले धरती-आकाश से मिलाते हैं. रुद्रपत्नी मध्यमा वाकू मरुतों में अपनी दीप्ति के साथ रहती है. शक्तिशाली मरुतों का कोई भी बाधक नहीं है. (६)
The fierce and powerful deserts combine the powerful service with the earth-sky with the beautiful earth and the sky. Rudra's wife, Madhyama Vaku, lives with her radiance in the maruts. There is no obstacle to the powerful maruts. (6)

अ॒ने॒नो वो॑ मरुतो॒ यामो॑ अस्त्वन॒श्वश्चि॒द्यमज॒त्यर॑थीः । अ॒न॒व॒सो अ॑नभी॒शू र॑ज॒स्तूर्वि रोद॑सी प॒थ्या॑ याति॒ साध॑न् ॥ (७)
हे मरुतो! तुम्हारा रथ पापरहित हो. स्तोता सारथि न होने पर भी जिस रथ को चलाता है, वह बिना घोड़ों वाला, भोजनशून्य एवं पाशरहित होकर भी जल का प्रेरक एवं स्तोताओं की अभिलाषा पूर्ण करने वाला बनकर स्वर्ग, धरती एवं आकाश में चलता है. (७)
O Maruto! May your chariot be sinless. The chariot that the stota drives even when he is not a charioteer, he walks in heaven, earth and sky without horses, being foodless and loopless, as an inspiration of water and fulfilling the desire of the stoetas. (7)

नास्य॑ व॒र्ता न त॑रु॒ता न्व॑स्ति॒ मरु॑तो॒ यमव॑थ॒ वाज॑सातौ । तो॒के वा॒ गोषु॒ तन॑ये॒ यम॒प्सु स व्र॒जं दर्ता॒ पार्ये॒ अध॒ द्योः ॥ (८)
हे मरुतो! युद्ध में तुम जिसकी रक्षा करते हो, उसका न कोई प्रेरक होता है और न कोई हिंसक. तुम जिसके पुत्रों, पौत्रो, गायों एवं जल की रक्षा करते हो, वह युद्ध में तेजस्वी शत्रु की भी गायों को नष्ट करता है. (८)
O Maruts! The one you protect in battle has neither a motivator nor a violent one. The one whose sons, grandsons, cows and water you protect, he destroys even the cows of a brilliant enemy in battle. (8)
