त्वामि॒दा ह्यो नरोऽपी॑प्यन्वज्रि॒न्भूर्ण॑यः । स इ॑न्द्र॒ स्तोम॑वाहसामि॒ह श्रु॒ध्युप॒ स्वस॑र॒मा ग॑हि ॥ (१)
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! हवि धारण करने वाले यजमानों ने तुम्हें आज और कल सोमरस पिलाया था. तुम हम स्तोत्रधारियों की स्तुतियां सुनो एवं हमारे घर के पास आओ. (१)
O thunderbolt Indra! The hosts who wore the hawi gave you somers today and tomorrow. Listen to the praises of us stothren and come to our house. (1)

मत्स्वा॑ सुशिप्र हरिव॒स्तदी॑महे॒ त्वे आ भू॑षन्ति वे॒धसः॑ । तव॒ श्रवां॑स्युप॒मान्यु॒क्थ्या॑ सु॒तेष्वि॑न्द्र गिर्वणः ॥ (२)
हे शोभन साफा वाले, घोड़ों के स्वामी एवं स्तुतियोग्य इंद्र! सेवक तुम्हारे लिए सोमरस निचोड़ते हैं. तुम उसे पीकर प्रसन्न बनो, हम तुमसे यही याचना करते हैं. सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर तुम्हारे अन्न उपमायोग्य एवं प्रशंसनीय हों. (२)
O Shobhan Safa wale, lord of the horses and praiseworthy Indra! The servants squeeze the somras for you. Be happy to drink it, that's what we beg of you. May your food grains be suitable and admirable when you go to Somers. (2)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
श्राय॑न्त इव॒ सूर्यं॒ विश्वेदिन्द्र॑स्य भक्षत । वसू॑नि जा॒ते जन॑मान॒ ओज॑सा॒ प्रति॑ भा॒गं न दी॑धिम ॥ (३)
हे सेवको! सूर्य की किरणें जिस प्रकार सूर्य से मिली रहती हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम सूर्य के सभी धनों का भोग करो. इंद्र ने शक्ति द्वारा धन उत्पन्न किए हैं. भविष्य में भी वह धन उत्पन्न करेंगे. हम उनका धन पैतृक भाग के समान लेंगे. (३)
O servants! Just as the sun's rays meet the sun, so you enjoy all the riches of the sun. Indra has generated wealth by power. In the future also he will generate wealth. We will take their wealth equally to the ancestral part. (3)

अन॑र्शरातिं वसु॒दामुप॑ स्तुहि भ॒द्रा इन्द्र॑स्य रा॒तयः॑ । सो अ॑स्य॒ कामं॑ विध॒तो न रो॑षति॒ मनो॑ दा॒नाय॑ चो॒दय॑न् ॥ (४)
हे स्तोता! इंद्र की स्तुति करो. वह पापरहित को धन देते हैं एवं दानशील हैं. इंद्र का दान कल्याणकारी है. इंद्र यजमान के लिए धन देने को अपने मन को प्रेरित करते हैं, उसकी अभिलाषाओं में बाधा नहीं डालते. (४)
This is the hymn! Praise Indra. He gives money to the sinless and is charitable. Indra's donation is beneficial. Indra inspires his mind to give money for the host, does not hinder his desires. (4)

त्वमि॑न्द्र॒ प्रतू॑र्तिष्व॒भि विश्वा॑ असि॒ स्पृधः॑ । अ॒श॒स्ति॒हा ज॑नि॒ता वि॑श्व॒तूर॑सि॒ त्वं तू॑र्य तरुष्य॒तः ॥ (५)
हे इंद्र । तुम युद्धों में सभी शत्रुसेनाओं को पराजित करते हो. हे शत्रुबाधक इंद्र! तुम दैत्यहंता, असुरो के शत्रुओं को उत्पन्न करने वाले एवं समस्त शत्रुओं के हिंसक हो. (५)
O Indra. You defeat all enemies in the wars. O enemie stopper, Indra! You are the datya destroyer , the creator of the enemies of the asuras, and dangerous to all the enemies. (5)

अनु॑ ते॒ शुष्मं॑ तु॒रय॑न्तमीयतुः क्षो॒णी शिशुं॒ न मा॒तरा॑ । विश्वा॑स्ते॒ स्पृधः॑ श्नथयन्त म॒न्यवे॑ वृ॒त्रं यदि॑न्द्र॒ तूर्व॑सि ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार माता पुत्र के पीछे चलती है, उसी प्रकार द्यावा-पृथिवी तुम्हारी शत्रुनाशक बल के पीछे चलती हैं. हे इंद्र! जब तुम वृत्र का वध करते हो, तब तुम्हारे क्रोध को देखकर सभी सेनाएं छिन्न होती हैं. (६)
O Indra! Just as the mother follows the son, so the dyava-prithvivi follows your enemy-destroying force. O Indra! When you kill Vrittar, all armies are shattered when you see your anger. (6)

इ॒त ऊ॒ती वो॑ अ॒जरं॑ प्रहे॒तार॒मप्र॑हितम् । आ॒शुं जेता॑रं॒ हेता॑रं र॒थीत॑म॒मतू॑र्तं तुग्र्या॒वृध॑म् ॥ (७)
हे सेवको! तुम अपनी रक्षा के लिए जरारहित, शत्रुओं को भगाने वाले, किसी से प्रभावित न होने वाले, शीघ्रगामी, शत्रुंजयी व जल को बढ़ाने वाले इंद्र को आगे करो. (७)
O servants! You must put forward Indra, the one who is not a jerk, who drives away the enemies, who is not influenced by anyone, the quick, the enemy, and the water-enhancing Indra, to protect you. (7)

इ॒ष्क॒र्तार॒मनि॑ष्कृतं॒ सह॑स्कृतं श॒तमू॑तिं श॒तक्र॑तुम् । स॒मा॒नमिन्द्र॒मव॑से हवामहे॒ वस॑वानं वसू॒जुव॑म् ॥ (८)
हम शत्रुविनाशक, दूसरों द्वारा नष्ट न होने वाले, अनेक रक्षासाधनों से युक्त, अनेक कर्मो वाले, सबके प्रति समान, धनों को घेरने वाले एवं यजमानों के पास धन भेजने वाले इंद्र को अपनी रक्षा के लिए बुलाते हैं. (८)
We call on Indra, who is an anti-enemy, who is not destroyed by others, possessed of many defense tools, who has many deeds, equal to all, surrounds wealth and sends money to hosts to protect ourselves. (8)
