ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 97
ए॒वा दे॑व दे॒वता॑ते पवस्व म॒हे सो॑म॒ प्सर॑से देव॒पानः॑ । म॒हश्चि॒द्धि ष्मसि॑ हि॒ताः स॑म॒र्ये कृ॒धि सु॑ष्ठा॒ने रोद॑सी पुना॒नः ॥ (२७)
हे दीप्तिशाली एवं देवों के पीने योग्य सोम! तुम देवों द्वारा विस्तार वाले यज्ञ में देवों के महान्‌ मदपान के लिए टपको. हम तुम्हारे द्वारा प्रेरित होकर युद्ध में महान्‌ शत्रुओं को भी पराजित करें. तुम शुद्ध होते हुए हमारे लिए द्यावा-पृथिवी को शोभन निवास वाली बनाओ. (२७)
O radiant and worthy of drinking of the gods, Mon! You tap for the great offering of the gods in the yajna extended by the gods. May we be inspired by you and defeat great enemies in the war. You, being cleansed, make for us the deity of the divine and the earth. (27)
