सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
पिबा सोममिन्द्र मदन्तु त्वा यं ते सुषाव हर्यश्वाद्रिः । सोतुर्बाहुभ्याँ सुयतो नार्वा ॥ (१)
हे इंद्र! यजमान अपने दोनों हाथों से पत्थरों से कूटकूट कर सोमरस निकालते हैं. आप उस सोमरस को पी कर आनंदित हों. आप इसे पीजिए. आप अश्चों के स्वामी हैं. आप हमें भी अश्च जैसा बल प्रदान कीजिए. (१)
O Indra! The host removes somerasa by crushing with stones with both his hands. May you enjoy drinking that somersa. You drink it. You are the master of ashchas. You give us the same strength as ashach. (1)
सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
यस्ते मदो युज्यश्चारुरस्ति येन वृत्राणि हर्यश्व हँसि । स त्वामिन्द्र प्रभूवसो ममत्तु ॥ (२)
हे इंद्र! आप अश्वों के स्वामी व ऐश्वर्यशाली हैं. आप सोमरस पी कर प्रसन्न होइए. आप अपने सुंदर घोड़ों को रथ में जोतिए. आप प्रसन्न हो कर हमारे शत्रुओं का नाश कीजिए. हे इंद्र! आप हमें भी मदमस्त व प्रभावशाली बनाइए. (२)
O Indra! You are the swami of horses and the glorious. Please be happy to drink somers. You plough your beautiful horses in the chariot. Please destroy our enemies. O Indra! You also make us crazy and effective. (2)
सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
बोधा सु मे मघवन्वाचमेमां यां ते वसिष्ठो अर्चति प्रशस्तिम् । इमा ब्रह्म सधमादे जुषस्व ॥ (३)
हे इंद्र! आप धन के स्वामी हैं. आप यजमान की इस वाणी को सुनिए. वसिष्ठ ऋषि प्रशस्ति गान कर के आप की अर्चना कर रहे हैं. आप उन की प्रार्थना, ब्रह्माणी और हवि को स्वीकारिए. (३)
O Indra! You are the master of wealth. Listen to this voice of the host. Vasishtha Rishi is worshiping you by singing the praise. You accept their prayers, Brahmani and Havi. (3)
सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
विश्वाः पृतना अभिभूतरं नरः सजूस्ततक्षुरिन्द्रं जजनुश्च राजसे । क्रत्वे वरे स्थेमन्यामुरीमुतोग्रमोजिष्ठं तरसं तरस्विनम् ॥ (४)
हे इंद्र! सभी आप का महत्त्व स्वीकारते हैं. सब आप की उपासना करते हैं. आप ने अपने बल से दुश्मनों का नाश किया. आप ने अपने श्रेष्ठ कर्मो से उच्चा पदवी पाई. आप की महिमा गाने वाले की सामर्थ्य शक्ति बढ़ती है. आप बहुत जल्दी कार्य करते हैं. आप जल्दी हमारी इच्छा पूरी करिए. (४)
O Indra! Everyone accepts the importance of you. Everyone worships you. You destroyed the enemies with your force. You got a high status by your best deeds. The power power of the person who sings your glory increases. You act very quickly. You fulfill our wish quickly. (4)
सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
नेमिं नमन्ति चक्षसा मेषं विप्रा अभिस्वरे । सुदीतयो वो अद्रुहोऽपि कर्णे तरस्विनः समृक्वभिः ॥ (५)
हे इंद्र! आप पराक्रमी हैं. ब्राह्मण विनम्र स्वर में आप की प्रार्थना कर रहे हैं. आप के उपासक विनम्र हैं. हम आंख बंद कर व झुक कर आप को नमन करते हैं. हे उपासको! आप किसी से इर्ष्याद्रोह मत कीजिए. आप कानों को सुहावनी लगने वाली प्रार्थनाएं इंद्र के लिए गाइए. (५)
O Indra! You are mighty. Brahmins are praying to you in a polite voice. Your worshippers are humble. We bow to you blindly and bow down. O worshiper! Don't be jealous of anyone. You sing prayers for Indra that look pleasant to the ears. (5)
सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
समु रेभसो अस्वरन्निन्द्रँ सोमस्य पीतये । स्वःपतिर्यदी वृधे धृतव्रतो ह्योजसा समूतिभिः ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! आप संकल्पशील, सोमरस पीने वाले, बलवान, ऐश्वर्यशाली हैं. आप यजमान को भी महिमावान बनाने के इच्छुक हैं. यजमान इंद्र की विधिवत उपासना करते हैं. (६)
O Indra! You are determined, somerous drinker, strong, glorious. You are also keen to make the host glorious. The hosts duly worship Indra. (6)
सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
यो राजा चर्षणीनां याता रथेभिरध्रिगुः । विश्वासां तरुता पृतनानां ज्येष्ठं यो वृत्रहा गृणे ॥ (७)
इंद्र राजा हैं. वे अपने रथ से तेज गति से प्रस्थान करते हैं. वे वृत्रहंता हैं. वे यजमानों के विश्वास की रक्षा करते हैं, वे ज्येष्ठ हैं. हम उन का गुणगान करते हैं. (७)
Indra is the king. They depart at a high speed in their chariot. They are greaters. They protect the faith of the hosts, they are the firstborn. We praise them. (7)
सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
इन्द्रं तँ शुम्भ्य पुरुहन्मन्नवसे यस्य द्विता विधर्त्तरि । हस्तेन वज्रः प्रति धायि दर्शतो महां देवो न सूर्यः ॥ (८)
हे यजमानो! इंद्र वञ्रधारी, देखने में सुंदर व सूर्य जैसे तेजस्वी हैं. उन में द्विधा (दोहरी) शक्ति है. वे देवों की रक्षा, राक्षसों का नाश व हमें संरक्षण प्रदान करते हैं. हम सभी को उन की उपासना करनी चाहिए. (८)
O hosts! Indra is beautiful to look at and bright like the sun. They have double power. They protect the gods, destroy the demons and protect us. We should all worship him. (8)
