सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
तरणिं वो जनानां त्रदं वाजस्य गोमतः । समानमु प्र शँसिषम् ॥ (१)
हे यजमानो! इंद्र हमारा बेड़ा पार लगाने वाले हैं. वे हमारे शत्रुओं को भय दिखाने वाले हैं. वे पशु धन देने वाले हैं. वे अन्नधन देने वाले हैं. मैं उन की सदा स्तुति करता हूं. (१)
O hosts! Indra is going to cross our fleet. They are going to show fear to our enemies. They are the givers of cattle wealth. They are the givers of food. I always praise them. (1)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
असृग्रमिन्द्र ते गिरः प्रति त्वामुदहासत । सजोषा वृषभं पतिम् ॥ (२)
हे इंद्र! आप के लिए हम ने स्तुतियां रची हैं. आप बलशाली हैं. सब का पालनपोषण करने वाले हैं. वे स्तुतियां आप तक पहुंचीं. सोम पीने वाले इंद्र ने उन का भी सेवन किया. (२)
O Indra! We have created praises for you. You are strong. Everyone is going to be nurtured. Those eulogies reached you. Indra, who drank Som, also consumed them. (2)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
सुनीथो घा स मर्त्यो यं मरुतो यमर्यमा । मित्रास्पान्त्यद्रुहः ॥ (३)
हे इंद्र! द्रोह (द्वेष) न करने वाले मरुत्, अर्यमा और मित्र देवता जिस की रक्षा करते हैं, वह यजमान निश्चय ही अच्छी राह पर चलने वाला होता है. (३)
O Indra! The host, who protects the desert, aryama and friendly gods who do not hate, is definitely going to walk on a good path. (3)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
यद्वीडाविन्द्र यत्स्थिरे यत्पर्शाने पराभृतम् । वसु स्पार्हं तदा भर ॥ (४)
हे इंद्र! आप के पास जो अचंचल और स्थिर धन है, ऐसा ही पुरुषार्थ वाला धन हमें प्रदान कीजिए. (४)
O Indra! Give us the same effort and steady wealth that you have. (4)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
श्रुतं वो वृत्रहन्तमं प्र शर्धं चर्षणीनाम् । आशिषे राधसे महे ॥ (५)
वृत्रासुर को मारने वाले बल की महिमा सब ने सुनी है. मनुष्य को अच्छा धन प्राप्त कराने की इच्छा से वह बल आप को देता हूं. (५)
Everyone has heard the glory of the force that killed Vritrasura. I give that strength to you with the desire to get good money to man. (5)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
अरं त इन्द्र श्रवसे गमेम शूर त्वावतः । अरँ शक्र परेमणि ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! आप वीर हैं. आप की प्रसिद्धि हम ने कई बार सुनी है. आप जैसे श्रेष्ठ दूसरे देवता की प्रसिद्धि भी हमें प्राप्त हो. (६)
O Indra! You are heroic. We have heard your fame many times. We should also get the fame of another great god like you. (6)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
धानावन्तं करम्भिणमपूपवन्तमुक्थिनम् । इन्द्र प्रातर्जुषस्व नः ॥ (७)
हे इंद्र! दही और भुजे हुए सत्तुओं वाले यज्ञ के पुरोडाश (प्रसाद) की हवि हम मंत्र के साथ समर्पित कर रहे हैं. आप इस सोम को प्रात:काल ग्रहण कीजिए. (७)
O Indra! We are dedicating the purodash (prasad) of the yajna containing curd and roasted sattus with a mantra. You take this Mon in the morning. (7)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
अपां फेनेन नमुचेः शिर इन्द्रोदवर्तयः । विश्वा यदजय स्पृधः ॥ (८)
जब डाह करने वाली राक्षसों की सारी सेना को इंद्र ने हरा दिया तब आप ने जल के झाग से नमुचि राक्षस का सिर तोड़ (काट) दिया. (८)
When Indra defeated the entire army of jealous demons, then you broke the head of namuchi rakshasa with the foam of water. (8)
